Leaveing the rig at the RV park

Quick question? We have decided to leave our trailer in the RV park for the Winter. We will be here roughly 4-8 nights a month. I am wondering if when we leave if we should bring the slide out in or just leave it out. I plan on shutting off the water and cleaning out both tanks.i am also going leave the furnace set to about 50... Any other suggestions?

I would bring them in- if you are running the heater, then the place will stay warmer.

Also, go to the hardware store and buy a roll of Reflextic (sp??) and cut covers for your windows and ceiling vents. That will also keep the heat in. Will you have enough propane? I am guessing not, btw, depending on how cold it is where you are.

Yeah , you might check where your heater vents are before ya go running that heater with slides in....my slides completely block 2 of my 3 vents when closed....not real safe...

One winter we stayed in ours and got 100 lbs propane cylinders delivered right to the camper When it was empty it auto switched to the 30 lbs tank until they came and swapped the 100 lbs. worked well if you can find that service near you...

I agree on he slides being in to keep it warmer but make sure you are cot blocking the vents. You should be good with 6 inches min but obviously more is better..

Although you will not be leaving it for an extended time, be sure to have some ventilation. Friend from Kansas winters in S. Texas. Said a fellow winter Texan left his for several months and came back with mold in the camper. Could smell it from the outside. Not enough ventilation. Depending on how cold it gets, I would consider blowing out the lines.
