Wow - same problem here in NY today!! Lucky I have 2 entry doors. The key wouldn't go in all the way so I jiggled it. It turned 90 degrees n stopped. Now key was stuck in door & door was still locked. Even from the inside I cannot turn the lock. We tried taking it apart (4 screws on inside) but looks like it's also attached along the side of the door. Tried 'banging' n slight 'forcing' but nothing. 24hrs of WD40 and got the key out, but it's still locked. We are going to the beach for the weekend & lucky we can use the bathroom entry door! No dealers open til next week too

I had to replace one of my entry door locks as well, due to a "stuck" lock. If I remember correctly, in addition to the four screws, there are two more screws on the striker plate (edge) of the door as well that must be removed in order to remove the entire assembly. If you can remove the inside plate of the latch assembly while it is still in place, you will be able to manually manipulate both the latch bolt and deadbolt enough to remove the lock assembly from the door. Good Luck.

P.S. Our unit is 2010 8315BSS and dealer gave us a replacement lock unit under warranty - no problem. Just had to return the defective lock to them after replacement was installed.

Thanks everyone for your replies. We did get in touch with Prime Time and got a very prompt reply.

We don't have a dealer close by as we are travelling in southern florida. We will take the lock apart and get a replacement. Prime Time needs the damaged lock sent to them along with our bills.

This is on our to do list tomorrow.

Hopefully there won't be a repeat.

Happy New Year Everyone.
