Louder speaker?

I recently watched a dvd and noticed that the volume on the head unit only goes to 39. This just doesn't seem as loud as it should go. I tried adjusting the volume on the tv but the actual head unit controls the volume of the ceiling speakers. It was loud enough for me to hear but just didn't seem like it was giving it all it had. Am I doing something wrong?

Not home but I think it's a Jensen

Mine got louder when I realized I could adjust audio settings like bass, treble, etc. Really helped exterior speakers. But its not Jensen. Just a thought.
