Quick update, just went to the dealer the other day to "visit" with the trailer. I realized I had 3 cieling vents + the bathroom fan vent. Originally I thought it was two + one fan. I also realized how much natural light the vents provided. So I placed my order on Amazon, I bought 3 smoked (tinted) MaxxAir II's and 1 white FanMate.
They were available to ship and priced right so I should have them by Friday.
Does anyone seal these? Or are they just screwed to the existing "collar" of the original vent? I know te FanMate has hinges, just hadn't read about the stationary ones it they are also on hinges or just fix mounted.
Please let me know your install experiences so I don't blow it!

I have the Camcos on mine, I asked the dealer should I go with the Camcos are the MaxxAir ll's. The service guy said the Camcos were much easier to clean, just open the back of it and wipe it out, no tools needed. The MaxxAir ll's are hinged, have to undo the locks and swing it open. He said it was not a bad design, just a little more involved. I guess it is a matter of preference. The MaxxAir ll will flow more air.
Take care,
Randy

Hmmm....my Camcos have 2 screws that you have to remove to get to the inside.
Overall, I think the MaxxAir IIs would have more access after you get those puppies open. With the Camcos, you would have to work through the opening to clean.....but who cleans up there regular anyway ??? If I have a bug or leaf on the screen, I "pluck" that puppy with my fingers from the inside until it disappears.

How brutal! Let's hope there are now bug fanatics out there looking to pounce on such cruelty!

Oops, I didn't think about PETA fans out there. But these puppies are dead when I pluck them.

The directions are very clear and easy to follow. You do not caulk them, on the MaxxAir website they state "The gap between our Vent Covers and the RV roof is designed to be there so any wind driven rain or condensation that collects underneath the Vent can easily drain out. Please Do Not Use Caulk."
I put a black one over the vent over our bed and it does a great job of blocking the sunlight. The white one in our bathroom lets a lot of light in. Not sure how much light the smoked ones block.

I received the 4 covers Iin the other day. The FanMate looks like it would let in a good amount of filtered light, the smoked ones will let in more light as they are a very light smoke tint. More for looks than pourpose. But I like them, can't wait to put them on!!

MAXX-AIR II are easy-----------
The Maxx-AIR II's are easy to install as per directions. They are also easy to open and clean. If installed properly, the vent cover will sit on the roof of your RV when closed thus preventing any (or most) foreign matter getting under the vent cover. Two pin clips are provided to be pulled out or removed so you can clean underneath the MAXX-AIR II covers.
I like mine very much, clean underneath all three at the start of the camping season.

Install update -
MaxxAir II covers were a breeze to install, the Smoke coloris just for looks, There was very little to no change on the amount of natural light that comes through.
As for the [B]FanMate cover[B] it did not work on my Tracer 3150 as there is a vent exhaust tube about 5 inches from the Fantastic Fan vent cover, and the FanMate was HUGE (tall and long) and prevented it from properly fitting.
I would still recomend a FanMate cover, but you should ensure there is no interference around the vent cover. I'll install another MaxxAir II there and it still will do a fine job with air circulation.
Thanks again everyone for the helpful information.
Joe
