MaxxAir Questions
Hey everyone,
I have a two stationary vents (w/o power) and one powered fan vent on my new TT. I need to understand if it's the MaxxAir II that goes on the stationary vents and the FanMate over the powered fan vent.
Thanks! Joe

Not exactly sure what you are asking but the MaxxAir II vents go on the outside over top of your existing vents - can go over all three for that matter
when you open your inside vents the Maxxait II vents allow air to come in and keep the bugs and rain out.
I have a powered fan in my bathroom and a no fan over my bead and they both have Maxxair II vents over them - Keeps the rain and bugs out - wouldnt go without ever again

I put the MaxxAir II vent covers over my two non power vents. I didn't put one over the power ventilated bathroom vent. Probably will end up doing it but just haven't yet.

According to this flyer at http://www.maxxair.com/brochures/fanmate_front_page.pdf the FanMate is designed to fit over Fantastic Fan, MaxxFan Standard, ShurFlo Confort Air or any other high volume RV roof ventilator.
By contrast, the bullet comments located at Maxxair II | Latest indicates the MaxAirII "can be safely installed over high powered RV ventilator fans; however our Fan/Mate® is specifically designed for this application allowing higher air flow from your existing ventilator fan."
Based on this information, I would use the MaxAirIIs over your regular vents, and put the FanMate over your fan powered vent.

+1 for the the FanMate over your fan powered vent, according to Napa RV. They claim that the Maxxair and the Maxxair II restrict the maximum airflow from and they only way to get all the benefit is to install the FanMate.

Thanks for the clarification and feedback on the MaxxAir II & FanMate, there seems to be quite a few ways to improve air flow in the cabin.

I went to the fantastic fan site, this is what they have. I am looking at the MaxxAir FanMate also. This is what Fantastic fan quotes on their web site.
Note: Never place a vent cover over, or filter on a
fan. Greatly restricted airflow and increased sound levels
will occur.

Anyone hearing additional noise from their added cover, vibration seems possible, but that could be dampened I'm sure.

You probably have the same vent setup that I have which is a vent w/o a fan (fan-less) in the living room and bedroom and a power vent in the bathroom. The Maxxair II goes over the fan-less vents and the FanMate goes over the bathroom vent where the fan is located. I just recently purchased and installed these on my travel trailer.

I have the MaxxAir II's over my vents without fans and the Fanmate over the bathroom vent which of course has a fan. I used these vent covers the same way on my old tt as well. Never had a problem.
I have read several post where people have used the MaxxAir II's on vents with fans. So far I haven't read of anyone having any problems.
Do whichever way you're comfortable with and enjoy.

We run a max air 2 over my fantastic fan in the bathroom. Never noticed any extra noise or reduced performance. The fan will still pull the bathroom door shut, even on low. Best $50 I spent. I have two original max airs, I should swap them out with the new style to enable easier cleaning.
Happy camping,
Shineysideup

From the MaxxAir website: "
The MaxxAir II Vent Cover can be safely installed over high-powered RV ventilator fans, however
our Fan/Mate Fan Cover specifically designed for this application allows higher air flow from your existing ventilator fan."
If I remember right when I was installing them on my TT a coupler years ago the Fan Mate was a lot more expensive than the MaxxAir II. My experience is the same as Shineysideup's, and have been very happy with the performance of the MaxxAirII with the Fantastic Fan.

Same here, no extra noise with my MaxxAirFanmMate.
grhodes50 / Gary and Trish, what do you use to clean your roof? I definitely want some of what ever it is. Cleanest roof I can ever recall seeing. Please let me/us know.

That's why ended up with a maxair2 on my bathroom vent. I was too cheap to buy the "proper" vent cover the first year I had the trailer. The following year the maxair2 came out and I didn't think I had much to lose. Turn's out, this is the first vent that should have a cover! The fantastic fan can really pull a lot of air, creating a major breeze through your trailer, covered, this can happen rain or shine!
Happy camping,
Shineysideup

Would anyone know if the Camco roof vents and the Maxx air ll would take the same bolt holes? My dealer installed the Camco vents. He said the were easier to clean. Our new trailer has the Fantastic fan option. I was wondering if I needed the Maxx air ll's for better circulation.
Thanks,
Randy

I installed the Camcos on my non motorized vents....much cheaper than the MaxxAirs. I don't see how the MaxxAirs could do any better than the Camcos.

I just answered your pm and included a link to this thread I posted last summer after I used Protect All Rubber Roof Treatment for the first time.
Here's the link if anyone else is interested; http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ent-13764.html
