Depends on the campground. Actually you can run into those crowds anytime. Maybe just a few more of 'em on holidays. I certainly wouldn't let it keep me from camping.

We're staying 3 nights at Cave Country RV Park in Cave City, Kentucky near Mammoth Cave National Park. It's only 3 1/2 hours from home, but this is the first time I've ever been here. It's really nice and not all that crowded. We'll probably come back.

Nice.

Frank, is this the Periwinkle Park? My wife and I used to go down to Sanibel a lot and stayed at a family place on Old Middle Gulf Rd but that's been sold.

We'd be very interested in hearing about your thoughts on the Periwinkle CG.

Indeed it is, Periwinkle Trailer Park & Campground - Sanibel Island, FL. We come here every Memorial Day weekend, a close 3hrs or less from home. We like the park location, a nice walk or short bike ride to the beautiful Gulf coast beach and the many restaurants close by.

The park staff is excellent, facilities are above average (including a mini-zoo!), some sites are somewhat close together but no on top of each other with enough room in between. One of the few parks that I never have to reset the main electric breaker whenever running multiple 120v appliances in the TT so the park's infrastructure must be up to par. They have free wireless but....well like all things free it's so so.

triguy, my wife is also a cheesehead. She's from a "another little Wisconsin town" called Stanley located in the Chippewa Falls area. Go PACKS!

We are staying near the Great Sand Dunes National Park in southern CO. They have hot spring pools here at the RV park which are the perfect temp. It's a little windy here but should be better tomorrow. Happy camping

Go Pack Go!!

Tell her i know Stanley well. One of my good friends is from there (class of '69 or something like that). He still has a place on Wissota. Been there fishing with him many times.

Good to hear about Periwinkle place. We hope to go down next year.

Hope you get to one of our favorite restaurants on Sanibel - Doc Ford's Rum bar and grill. Love that Yucatan shrimp.
