We were set to sign the papers and take delivery of a new one a couple of years ago. Got there to do the deal, and saw the camper out front. Cool. Then the sales lady came out and said somebody stole it last night. The tech had left it hooked up to the yow, and someone took both. When they found it it had over 15k in damages from stolen out of it and broken stuff. Needless to say I did not buy that camper. Funny part was while I was upset at the surprise was typical sales. Well, as long as your here do you want to see another trailer! Lol. As it turned out I did find one as long as I was there. Got a great deal on that one because I used my indignation.

I broke a rear spring on a truck, hauling about 2200#... took it there and for little more than just a fix it price, and a lot less then the tire store that noticed my broken spring quoted, they added 500# payload and rebuilt the whole rear suspension. Never had a problem hauling that load after that, which I did many times over the next 10 years.
That is a good idea. If the rear axle is the same you can upgarde capacity but the weight police sticker will be the same.

What year model?

The OP had a 2014 Lacrosse, will the new unit be a 2018?

I bet there might be a difference in the cost of the license plate to be considered. That hasn't been mentioned here. Of course, there hasn't been a whole lot of dropoff in the cost of my tag since I bought it new. Something to think about....

The new unit will b a 2017, it is due to come off the assembly line mid February and than to the parts facility to get its slide toppers and max air vent and covers installed, than to the dealer for PDI and I should be able to take delivery early March. he cost of tax title and fees will all be covered by primetime, they are also prorating my extended warranty and cutting me a check for that balance with the option to buy another at the dealer when I take delivery, which I will pay for the difference between what was left and what would need to be covered on the new one if we so choose to take out an extended warranty.

Sounds like a deal!

Now you get to fix up a NEW camper the way YOU like it. Took me 4 years to get mine "right for me". So far.....

and the drama continues....So I get a call from the Primetime President today...they found my camper!!! The camper never left their lot, apparently when Tom Raper sold me the camper they did one of 2 things, they gave me the wrong camper or they gave me the wrong paperwork for my camper. I bought mine on May 31 and the other fella bought his on June 4. He has my paperwork and I have his, so instead of checking for my license plate on the back or going inside to look for identifying characteristics that the camper that is sitting in their lot is mine, they went by the VIN and only the VIN and assumed mine was gone. So now they say they are tyring to figure out how to get all the paperwork figured out between me and the other guy so we have the proper paperwork that goes with our campers. Apparently they have had extreme trouble getting in contact with this guy. I am pretty irritated at this point at their lack of detail and follow through and relying on 1 source of information to say my camper is gone. all the hour upon hours i have spent on the phone with various insurance companies, loan companies, police departments, the stress of figuring out what our next step was, going through all the hassle with the 4-5 people I have dealt with up to this point on this whole situation. I am not sure what is going to happen, I am not upset to be getting my camper and my belongings back but I am a little disappointed as we were all geared up to start fresh with the latest and greatest of this model, sue to pick in up in a few weeks. I somehow knew, in the back of my mind, this is what was going to happen. I am trying to keep my head level and let it play out but I am less than impressed at this point.

Well, I guess they no longer have to make you whole on the camper, but they sure ought to make you whole on the hassle!

WOW! Been following this thread and all I can say at this point is:

1) I feel sorry that you had to go thru that ordeal and
2) The whole story is unbelievable - someone creative could probably make a nice comedic movie out of this
