No help from Prime Time

Was told by Prime Time support team and corporate that my trailer, which is a 2012 is too old for them to repaint. It's a shame that something that was bought with hard earned money only last for 3 yrs. Another way to look at it is great advertisement for not buying a Crusader. The dreaded "Brown Fade"

Sorry to hear the results, but I know how it feels.

Dealing with my local service department, they suggest that I wait until fall or better yet winter when they're workload is down to have it painted. They can offer up to 25℅ off to repaint the cap.

Also I did get the manufacturer to provide a set of replacement decals to apply after the repaint so it can then be clear coated over the decals. Hopefully problem solved for next year.

Good luck.

No advertisement

They can keep the decals. They will get no advertisement from me. I think it would look better anyway..

Has anyone tried Poli Glow products? Not sure it would help on the fading of dark colors but might be worth researching.

2014 Crusader 294 Cap Faded

I have the same problem with my 2014 Crusader 294 RLT with the Brown Cap Fade. The same exact scenario as the others on this thread. The fading appeared on a trip. Was not there when I left, drove 120 miles down the road and boom there it was. I called Prime Time and they said it needed to be compounded out. So I had just the cap professionally compounded and waxed. They detailer told me it's in the gel coat and can not be compounded out. But it looked a little better. You could still see the haze but the compounding helped until I drove it down the road again. Sure enough, the next 100 miles down the road boom, it was back.
I have a buddy that has a 2015 296 BHS with the same exact problem. His is definitely under warranty. I am out of warranty by 2 months, so I read this forum and called Rick... He said take it back to my dealer and it will be covered.

Rick is the man...

That's good jinksda, glad they are doing right by you. Just make sure it's done right the first time. Are they painting or going the cheap way and just compounding?

Paint it

I already spoke to my dealer and it will be re-painted, new gel coat, new sticker. As I mentioned before compounding did not work at all.

I have to put a good word in here for Camping World in Summerfield FL. Took my 2014 295RST in to have a few issues fixed and mentioned to them that I have the same issue with the cap. They said straight away they could fix it for me without charge despite the fact that I'm out of warranty. All they needed to do was to have me bring it back once they had put the claim in and ordered the paint and decals.
I was fully expecting to have to go back and complain to the original dealer, and fight a battle with them as it was out of warranty!
Pleasantly surprised to say the least.
