How long ago was yours repainted? And how is the single coat holding up?

When you say single coat was that accurate or was it possibly a single stage paint job?

Single stage (multi coat, thickness) is without a clear coat and would make a color match easier should a repair be needed in the future.

This is what's been recommended for a repaint on mine.

I think I labeled it single coat. I assumed that was what single stage meant. I don't know anything about body work or painting these things.

I didn't ask how mine was painted, should I have?

I will definitely try and get a wash/wax onto it in the spring. It is in a storage yard so that is not always easy for me.

Single stage means the paint is shiny in itself, therefore doesn't get a clear top coat and is cheaper/easier to apply.
2 stage is a base coat (color) and a clear top coat. 2 stage has more depth, looks more glossy and because of the clear top coat resists chips, fading etc.

Wife and I took a closer look today and when all is said and done the paint seems OK. I have to say OK. Not great. Not terrible either.

The decals are another story. My dealer did try no question. They are not 100% straight and there is quite a bit of bubbling in them. I also believe they will peel. I'll take pictures to document.

I think we will attend the FROG rally and I'll get in touch with PT to see if they will install a new set for me.

If you ask me they know it happens and they know why they should fix all of them regardless of age since they have only been around since 2011.

I am looking at a used 2013-2015 Crusader 290, 295 but I won't buy one if they have the dreaded faded cap and FR or PT won't fix for free.

They all know it is a MFG defect they should all fix it regardless
