New 2012 LaCrosse 318 BHS Owner w/ questions

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum. We have taken our travel trailer out for the second time and received many compliments. We are just breaking it in. We love the many options this trailer provides. I am wondering if someone can give me some ideas -- the ladder in the bunkhouse seems short and in trying to access the upper bunk the angle of the ladder makes you feel as if you are falling off and with nothing to hold on to, it is difficult to crawl up onto the bunk. Any suggestions? Also, although the table is built to provide maximum functionality (outside table, coffee table, etc) I have found that while trying to scoot into the booth, my knees keep hitting the mechanism and have even cut my knee once. Can the mechanism be turned on the table or has anyone found a fix to this? Thanks and happy travels.

Good questions. I hope one of the Primetime owners can help better so I have moved your thread for the exposure in that forum.

Again - welcome aboard!

I can't help you with your questions since I don't have a BHS model and we have dinette table & chairs, but the 318BHS seems to be PT's most popular tt and there are many membes on this forum that own one. I'm sure one will post soon with help to your questons.

We've had our 318BHS since April 2011. I agree with your assessment of the bunk ladder, but haven't contemplated a mod. Our 9 yr old can scurry up/down ok. We've never had a problem with the dining room table. Again, kids to the back :-)

Sorry couldn't offer up any solutions.

We use one of these - folds and is light, but makes it much easier to get up on the bunk.

Welcome to the forum! We have the same trailer and just love it! I'm sure you will too.

I have the same problem with the table and haven't been able to think something up just yet. Hopefully someone else will have a fix. Regarding the ladder, our little one is still a few weeks away to it will be a while until we have to worry about that. I would love to see some more suggestions that we could use later on.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpfull.

I too have the same problem with the table. I haven't came up with and option yet...but I am guessing replacing the table all together is probably the way to go...and fold that one down and store it for use as coffee table or if I have to set the dinette up for a bed...

If anyone comes up with any ideas let me know please. I love mods...I recently installed cabinet doors to access the under dinette storage without lifting the seat cushions and they are great.

Hoops,

As stated you can order the doors and hardware from prime time for about 50 bucks...installation was simple, the panels under the dinette literally pushed right out in one piece, once those were removed I simply held the doors up, leveled them, and attached the hardware. I didn't ur handles o. The cabinets as I didn't want them to catch little legs on the way by, plus the farther door may hit the opposite wall near the fridge when slid in...it's really close.

I have pictures posted in a different thread, under mods.

Good luck
