New Crusader 351 REQ owners!

Hi folks,

We are new owners of a new 2014 Crusader 351 REQ. We did a lot of shopping and research and liked what we bought for our price range.

It's just for my wife and I to enjoy as we spend the next couple years trekking across North America. It's a far cry from our Coachman 24' lite bunk model we had when the kids were young!! We sold that last summer and spent the last year shopping.

For a long time we were not too sure about a 5th wheel and were leaning towards a TT, but given the options we wanted and the lengths involved, a 5th wheel came into the picture.

We'll be towing with our 2013 Ram crew cab 4x4 with 6' box, 2500 diesel Longhorn edition. This is should make for a good workout, but I'm sure the Cummins will enjoy the pull!

Are there any other 351 REQ owners out there? How do you like yours and what have you liked/disliked? What do you tow yours with? Just curious as to your experiences. We'll be picking it up Aug 11 !!!

We got our 351 REQ in June of this year. We love it and only had one major issue with it. The bathroom slide cut the flooring when we retracted it in. It was a design issue. The did not allow enough space between the cabinet and floor. It took our dealer a month to fix it but we used it for the first time this weekend and worked fine.

Hi Cajun225,

Great to hear from a fellow 351 owner! Interestingly, when we did our walk through on pick up day, we found the bathroom slide rubbed against the screw on the bathroom floor heat vent. They used a raised screw. The dealer quickly changed the 2 screws out to flat-heads and problem solved!

We are heading out on a long trip in about 2 weeks time and looking forward to it!

Acquired a 351 req in July and love it so far! Took it in to get some warranty work done and the last time i went camping i was bringing the bath slide in and it (the floor vent) caught the cabinet! What a racket! I'm heading out this weekend so will remember to bring a couple flat head screws...or tighten down the one they must have loosened!

So far I love this unit! Pulling with a 2015 GMC 3500 slt Dually...barely notice the trailer.. ... except it's so big.

We are actually on our way to pick our 351 up. Is there anything we should ask about in our walk through. Especially about the bathroom slide. I am a little nervous about moving water lines. Good to hear good things
