New Tire Warranty Tredit Care from Prime Time

Any body notice this on the Prime Time Site.

Seems like I bought my Crusader 290 rlt a few weeks to early to quality.

Prime Time and Tredit Partner On Industry Leading Tire Coverage

It was posted April 14 under whats new.

Makes me feel better about the tires even though I don't think I qualify for the coverage.

Robert, don't feel too good about the Towmax tires. My 2013 290RLT came new with 4 of them and after 16 months and 5,000 miles all 4 tires had separated. Les Schwab inspected them all and they could not find any reason for the separations other than just bad tires.

Tire Warranty

I just looked in my paperwork bag and found a tire warranty for Power King Towmax STR Premium. The Limited Warranty is on trailers purchased after August 1 2012. It states All Power King Towmax tire lines are warranted against failures due to defects in workmanship & materials for the life of the original tread, or five years from the date or purchase,(whichever comes first).

I did file a claim with them and they were covered under the warranty. But they prorate the reimbursement based on treadwear. My tires still had 80% tread left so they gave me 80%. They value the tire new at $120 so they gave me 80% of that for $96 per tire. The only place I could find in my area that sold the Towmax was Les Schwab and they sell the Towmax tire for $170 each.
The warranty date you mentioned is based on the date stamped on the outside of the tire and not the date you bought the RV. They told me they cannot base the warranty date on the date the RV is sold because it could sit on the dealer's lot for 2 years before being sold. So they have to base it on manufacture date.

A good reason to check the date on the tires of the rig BEFORE you take delivery. If they are older ask for newer tires as a part of the deal.

That's a great idea and the power of these forums. Too late for me and I would have never thought of that

Interesting thread. Two months after I bought my 2670 BH last summer I had a flat up in McAll Idaho on a Sunday that we were supposed to leave and drive home. Being that my trailer was almost brand new (2013 model), I thought no problem and went to take the spare off. Much to my dismay, the new spare, was totally trashed and looked like it had been run flat for a good while. Good luck finding a tire repair shop open on a Sunday afternoon in central Idaho...I did manage to find a motorcycle repair shop open, and the guy put a plug in my initial flat, allowing me to get to Boise and at least buy a new tire at Walmart for a good spare. My bad for not looking at the spare prior to taking possession of the tt. The dealer, General RV, reimbursed me fully for the cost of the purchase of the spare at Walmart. But what a crappy deal. Glad I wasn't heading down the canyon, with no pull offs, only to find the "new" spare was toast before even using it.

I found that same warranty today when looking though my paperwork and wondered about it.
