True, but I did not want an "ST" tire. Their construction and the testing by DOT is far less than that of a heavy duty LT tire.

A Goodyear Marathon is 31 lbs in that size. My new tire is 51 lbs and technically less rubber because of the larger wheel. The weight alone shows that the tire is better constructed... again, my opinion.

Regards.

UPDATE:

Trip went flawlessly. Tires performed great. I set the cruise on 72mph and had zero issues. I was so happy knowing that my tires were not going to blow up at any point.

I checked the wheel torque at 100 miles and again at 250 miles. Only one lug nut had loosened, and it was very minimal. I verified hub temps and tire temps with a infrared temp gun at every fuel stop. All were the same temps, no hot hubs or tires.

Before I left Disney World, I checked tire pressure and lug nut torque again.. No change.. I am extremely happy with my decision on these tires. The piece of mind alone is worth it.

As a side note, my two direct neighbors at the Campground had blowouts on the way there with their ST tires, and had to scramble to find replacements..

After all of the safety discussion, doesn't a 72 mph tow speed erode your safety margin?

Which Safety Margin? How so?.. Speed Limit is 70 and traffic doing 80+ I got passed by everyone including a few other TT and truck combos...

Those wheels are sharp and the tires look beefy. I'm also in the market for new tires since mine are 5+ years old. I'm new to the tailer tire market and have read in many posts not to use auto tires since they are not flexible as the trailer are designed to be. Did your dealer indicated they been putting these on trailers?

I did this all on my own, with my own research. I bought the tires after much research and purchased the wheels I liked with the correct load rating and pattern.

I have a family friend who owns a tire place, they ordered me the tires and mounted them on my wheels.

These LT tires are head and shoulders more beefy than the ones they replaced, hands down. Again, my humble opinion.

HAAR... I've read a handfull of posts with good comments about Loadstar (made by Kenda) tires. Here's a link that have 15" up to E rating.

I ran at 76 psi. Tires are rated for 80.

Why 76? I did not need full capacity of the tire, but wanted to be a little over my old tire's weight rating. The charts I found online, put me at a comfortable (to me) 76psi.

Let us know if it rides rough. I'm thinking with the more rugged tire it may bounce more.

It did not ride rough at all, in fact, I felt it to be a more smooth ride. I had the new set of tires balanced, and to me it made a difference.
