No 12 volt power??
When I am pluged into shore power or pluged into my truck everything is fine. When I unplug...no power in the trailer at all. What gives? Is my batt bad, or is there a fuse or breaker somewhere I am missing?

Check for a blown 30A 12V fuse close to the camper's battery.

Shankster, unless you have a VOM there is no way to tell if a fuse, fuseable link or breaker has tripped. They are pretty cheap at places like Harbor Freight (less than 20 bucks) and should be in every took kit in every RV on the road.

most newbies cross the battery wires and either blow a inline fuse or a resettable breaker.
they are along the tongue, between the battery and the front of the trailer.

Not sure if this helps - but does your unit have a battery disconnect? If so, perhaps the battery switch was turned to the disconnect position by someone without your knowledge.

My troubleshooting "Rule of Thumb."
If it worked before; but does not now (no warning failure); it is usually something simple.
Check fuse
Check each wire terminal for corrosion
Look for missing insulation (like rodent damage)
After that it is a "Crap" shoot.
(The game; not the scat)

Sounds like 12v is not getting power from the battery to the converter. The battery power is connected directly to the converter, and is distributed throughout the TT circuits from there. I'd check the back of the inverter to see if you are getting the 12v from the battery. If not, you have a line break or a blown fuse or breaker somewhere between the battery and the converter.
I'm thinking that it's likely a bad auto-reset breaker (about a 1" x 3/4" little box) mounted very close to the battery. The 12v supply pin from the tow vehicle side is likely taped in beyond that breaker, so that it's not "double fused", and this is why you have 12v when the TT is connected to the tow vehicle.
Similarly, you have 12v when plugged in, because the converter is functioning properly.
The REAL danger with your current situation is that the 12v supply from the tow vehicle WILL NOT provide sufficient power to operate your brakes safely, PLUS, there will be NO power, should the break-away cable have to activate.
