Opinion on installation cost

Looking to have the following installed before purchasing a 2015 Tracer 3150BHD

2 Dometic black slide toppers and 2 MaxxFan 7500/remotes installed- $2341.
Any thoughts on the cost being in line with what others have paid?

Not sure if its good or bad. I generally wait for camping world to have $39 and or $59 dollar instillation speacial on items you buy from CW if I get a big ticket item.

I would certainly have them itemize that quote. For dometic toppers and maxxfan's they get at dealer costs.. it sounds pretty steep to me. Of course.. how long are the topper runs?

Short story.. I wouldn't agree to any quote I didn't know what I was paying for.

MaxxFan run around 250 each, give or take. Toppers, highly dependent on size etc. I am not familiar with a 3150BHD, although I am guessing larger slides.

That quote does seem high, but not total outrageous. I assume this is on a new rig? If so, negotiate with the dealer. We managed to get our selling dealer to throw in our 3 toppers. It took some heavy negotiating, but my wife is a master.

Is their more than one dealer with service departments? After you get the invoice I would take it to the other dealer to see if he can beat it. I do this with cars/trucks. It does work.

installation cost

We paid our dealer $1,000.00 to install one canopy (roll up type) over our 12 ft slide out.

Our dealer installed 3 MaxxAir II vent covers, one bedroom slide topper and two toppers on the large dining slide and even larger kitchen slide on our Crusader at a cost of $2700

The slide toppers are Dometic brand black (extra $$) as well as the vent covers - the kitchen slide has an extra cradle support in middle since it is so long
