Our first TT ever. 2010 tracer 3000bhd

We just purchased our first TT for my family of 4 and we are excited for the summer to come. We have never owned a trailer before and although I'm normally a research fanatic (my wife says it's an illness I have), I really didn't find a lot of info about this trailer. The price was great, and the unit looks like it's never been used.

It's bigger than I wanted and took it for a test pull which I wasn't white knuckling it so it pulled well.

I wish I could have found reviews on the trailer which I didn't, and although I bought if from a local dealer there isn't a lot of information they could offer me. I downloaded all the manuals and brochures I could find and I did find out it has the power package in this unit but otherwise not much info.

I hope I didn't buy a cheap, problem oriented trailer as I didn't know it was discontinued. It seemed well built.

Can anyone share their feedback and things I should watch out for? Don't tell me I bought a crappy trailer, my pride wouldn't be able to handle it when I broke the news to my wife if that was the case.

Hey Frost, welcome to the forum and welcome to joining the camping club! I can't speak about your Tracer as I haven't owned one, but you can definitely expect to keep up on small repairs, loose screws now and then and other maintenance items. I have read where one of the other members on here describe it as your house being subjected to an earthquake every time you head out, which is spot on! The kids will absolutely love camping and I wish your family an amazing summer!!

Congrats! Tracer makes a nice product, it's made by prime time mfg which is under the forest river umbrella. They were a fairly new company in 2010 (started in 09). There's a lot if folks on here that love there tracers, I'm sure they will chime in shortly.

Thanks for the reply's. I did find out when I purchased it that it was under the forest river company and manufactured by Prime Time, which because it was a Forest River brand of sorts is part of the reason I purchased it. Normally a startup company is not something I want to buy a product from, in this case it might not be a bad thing since the RV industry is so competitive and if a company wants to survive it has to build a quality product.

I'm hoping pride of workmanship and quality control is something they stressed when building these units.

I will keep on top of things as far as general maintenance is concerned. In past years we used a motorhome so I am used to the experience, the only thing I have to get used to now is essentially pulling the motorhome down the road instead of driving it. haha.

As a cool add-on I was looking at adding the LED lights on the awning, if I could get it wired into the same lightswitch as the outdoor light.

Any other information would be greatly appreciated.
