The outdoor kitchen is one of the things we like the most about our Crusader. If I could change anything it would be to have the outside fridge run on gas or electric. I do like the idea of the taller faucet, too. We rarely camp where we have hook-ups and most meals are done outside on an open fire so the outdoor kitchen makes a great prep area. It is also a wonderful fish cleaning station.

I wish that the fridge was propane fired. What would it cost to do so?

Mustafa - I did a quick look at Camping World and saw a 2.7 Cubic Foot refer for just under $900 that is "probably" propane. I say "probably" because it didn't say that it was, but $900 would be the range I would expect for this upgrade.

In our opinion, the extra convenience is not worth the additional cost as a standard factory feature, but we appreciate the feedback.

Hey RV Guy,

I'll second (or third) what others have said about making the fridge two-way (AC and gas). We camp half the time on electric and dry camp the other half. Sure would be a nice option. Have a good one.

I am going to go out on a limb here, but I bet you guys get some sort of break on buying fridges in bulk... So it would be a little cheaper than $900, but even if it wasn't I would have paid it.." In our opinion, the extra convenience is not worth the additional cost as a standard factory feature, but we appreciate the feedback" You ask for feedback, and that has been a reoccuring item thats has come up. What gives ??? " In our opinion" We were not talking about your opinion, we were talking about the peoples opinions who use these campers day in and day out.. Not like we were asking for the moon.. Just a fridge that is usable, all we have now is an electric "cooler" that can only really be used once you get somewhere with elec. For a minute I thought we might have a company that listens to their customers..

To me it seems really dumb to not have a two way fridge. Saying no to $900 for the cost of these would be like saying no to a gas station coke because it was 15 cents more expensive.

One thing to think of. My wife is 5 foot nothing. There would be no way she could reach the cabinets in the proto. I really like the goose neck faucet, but would not want to sacrifice lower cabinets for it.

That being said, I think the others make valid comments about using the counter space for taller items. We hung a paper towel holder under the cabinet and there is little room between the top of the counter and the bottom of the towel holder.

I guess I'm a cake wanter and a cake eater
We hung our paper towel holder on the inside of the o.d. kitchen door. So when the door is open, the paper towel holder is above your head. Works perfect!!

There is more than the cost of the fridge people, you have to vent it , supply gas and if I am not mistaken it's deeper than an 110 volt fridge. You could probably add another $ 900.00 for all the extras or more.

We absolutely love the outdoor kitchen on our 2012 Tracer 3150BHD. I personally wouldn't change a thing. The glass doors and smaller cabinets scare me due to the fact that ours has turned into an outdoor bar for us and our friends. Our trips usually end with everyone gathered around a fire, next to our outdoor kitchen and everyone storing their preferred drinks in our fridge and cabinets...perfect size.....1 questions however....where do I find a TV mount for the Outdoor TV which the Tracer has available?

If you have a sabre dealer you may be able to contact them for a price.

Tv folds flat and slides right in cubbyhole.

That is very cool. With the Tracer, there is no slide out, there is a pre-mounted spot on the side of the trailer, approx. half way up the side. I'm trying to find the correct mount that will connect the TV to the factory pre-mount.
I really like yours though, very nice option

I would contact the dealer where you purchased your trailer. I was given an extra bracket when I bought my trailer and I'm pretty sure it was free.

RV Guy,
Would mounting the gas fridge be that big of a deal? I would assume that a Vent similar to the other fridge would have to be cut into the back wall (mounting the unit with the back facing the back of the trailer)? Could the ventilation be done more simply?

Mastafa - I'm not aware of a gas refer that isn't required to vent thru a wall to the exterior. You're right, it would need to be rotated 90 degrees to face out the back I would think. The rear wall would need additonal framing for the vent. The entire frig would need to be enclosed and sealed to meet code (gas leak concerns) like your main refer. The door swing would limit what you could put on your counter (no sink and faucet adjacent to the refer )and your overhead storage would have to be reduced to allow for the door swing. We would need to run an additional gas line. It seems like access would not be easy for kids and/or shorter adults with it facing sideways. But, yes, it could be done

A sloped or curved vent stack could be made to vent out the back and still leave the door facing out. Not a major design challenge.

I have the 2012 Tracer 3150 and love the outside kitchen as is. The only way to improve it, would be to lengthen the area of the kitchen.

We're a family of 6 and so the bigger cabinets are needed. When I cook on the stove, my coffee maker is just behind it and it works out even though it's tight. A shorter cabinet there would seem to work, but ends up as a big storage sacrifice. I also had seen the extension countertop on other lines and although it could work, it would come with issues down the road as prep areas are heavily used and I don't think such an area could be strong enough long term.

I love the dormer fridge, it's easy, gas powered is over the top in this size range. The sink draining into black is great, as the Grey tank fills to fast anyway. I thought about the stove swinging out, but it gets to close to the outside bathroom door, so again, it's great as is and I like the quick connect gas lines for both the stove and grill.

A skinny second deep drawer would be great for grill utensils. And I think a taller faucet would fit in the existing layout, with the way cabinets are.
Just finished using it all yesterday and we get lots of lookie loos admiring the outside kitchen. I am still impressed with the features Prime Time installed on these trailers and the fact that RV Guy checks into the forum is an amazing testiment of their commitment to the line.
Thanks!
