Pics from this past Weekend

Just sharing a few pics from this weekend.

We camped on the eastern shore of Virginia at Kiptopeke State Park.

Thanks!
John

Trailer looks nice. I always enjoy seeing one set up for camping. How did the outside kitchen work out? I can see where the outside door to the bathroom would come in handy.

Looks like you had some nice weather. We'll be camping in a couple of weeks and hopefully the weather will be nice. So far we've camped in rain, high winds, severe storms and cold temps. I think I'm ready for a nice weekend.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Ohhh, Kiptopeke ! I love that camp ground ! Looks like you were in one of the open sites ! We always managed to get one of the shaded sites (by a miracle) close to the road. The beach is the best !!!!

I hope you had a fantastic time !

Thanks for the comments all!

Yes, there are sewer hookup sites.

The power awning is great! Yes, it can be adjusted to shed water.

Are you going to tie your awning down? Some say it is okay with our type of awning. I am afraid that is will mess something up with the motor etc. It still seems like the awning would flap alot in the wind.

I've wondered the same thing. I could tie it down, but there is no way to install de-flappers. Without tie downs if a gust of wind comes up the awning can "fold back" which helps keep the material from ripping off the trailer. Sort of the same thing that de-flappers do.
Tied down without the de-flappers the awning material will be absorbing all the wind gust's energy which could cause the awning material to detach from the trailer.
That's one thing I miss about the manual awnings. I have had mine tied down with de-flappers installed in some decent wind conditions and never experienced any problems.

Of course if it's too windy or if a sudden wind gust does come up, I do roll up the power awning.

Yep, that is what I am going to do...Bought a First-Up Canopy for $80 at Walmart that I will tie down.If I lose it not a huge financial hit. I always like a table outside and a place to store my chairs in stormy conditions....Or even someplace to sit. I bought the sides that go with the Canopy as well.

Great pics! Looks like you had lots of fun.

I do tie my electric awning down to secure it and haven't had any issues yet...

I built the "reciever" portion myself and bolted it to the frame. No holes drilled or welding to the TT frame.

The rack itself is a Hollywood Racks Sport Rider 4.

Here is another closer pic of it.

Thank you. I wanted a rack, but knew it could not go on the back of the trailer due to bouncing etc... I also did not want to drill or weld on the frame, voiding my warranty. Lastly, I did not want a front receiver hitch on the truck making me any longer than I already am.

I came up with my idea above. It is a bit overkill, (my friends call it the motorcycle rack) but the bikes don't move, they stay put. No bouncing at all, and I can watch them in the mirror. They also miss the tailgate on the truck by plenty.

I am humbled that you would want that on the facebook page. It was just made from necessity..
