Plastic Trim Over Wheels

I have a 2012 Crusader 290RLT with perhaps a trim misalignment. The plastic trim (upper wheel ) attached to the right slide overlaps about 3/8" the wheel trim attached to the trailer itself. So when the slide is closed that trim is pushed out by the trailer's trim underneath. Is this a simple case of me moving the trailer trim to the right about 3/8"?

This is one of those cases where a photo would sure make answering the question a whole lot easier.

On our new Wildcat the curb/door/passenger side plastic fender was not on straight and nor was the cut between the piece that stayed on the trailer side and the slide out and looked pretty poor in my eye. I ordered a new plastic fender and installed it to my liking nice and straight as is now the cut between were they meet at the slide out match.
They are mounted with square inset head screws which come out easy enough. However if you do pull them make sure to cut the chalking so they will separate with easy. If you re drill the holes to mount in a different location make sure to fill the old holes with some silicone caulk to prevent future rusk.
If it would help I could post a photo to make more sense of what I tried to explain.
Good luck,

I think you are right on. The trim was not matched at the factory. Best solution is to remove the trailer trim then reposition with new screws.

X2 on having a pic.
Had the same problem with my Lacrosse.

I would first make sure my slide out is adjusted properly, mine was not.
Matter of fact none of my 3 slide came from the factory properly adjusted.
(that's a story itself)

After slide was adjusted right, having the crushed molding changed on the unit itself. It still was hitting to hard imo.

So I cut / trimmed the wheel skirt with snips so it would not hitting anything when closed. You cant even tell I cut it to look at it. Simple task that my deal just couldn't do.

Is your slide out all the way in, in the photo? It almost looks like it doesn't retract all the way and seal well.

I looks like they may have cut it to overlap when closed, which would be nice if they actually matched near enough to complete the look.

When I cut mine I used a new single edged razor blade, it wasn't easy to do, but gave a very fine edge.

The slide looks aligned properly. The trim on the trailer prevents the edge of the slide from getting closer. I wii remove the wheel trim on the trailer then close the slide to see if that bottom corner closes better.

Here is photo of other side that has same prob. You can see that the wheel trim is not centered with the tires. It is installed too far towards the rear.

I could live with that. If you want to make it look more finished off to a auto parts store or Walmart and pick up a package of black door edge trim molding, and cut it to fit the two cut edges of your fenders.

As for the slide out stopping short of full closure due to the fender stopping it, the fender would have to close between the slide out rubber seal also, not just between the slide out. The rubber slide seal will cause a space to always be there.

Why have the fender skirt go behind the slide out when closed anyway? Could that part be cut off completely to allow a better fit of the slide when closed? Or is it needed when its open?

That first pic just dont look right at-least from what I can see from the pic.. Is that a design flaw or what?

I believe trim was not installed accurately as it is not centered over the wheels.

It's kind of an eyeball install, it looked either right to someone or close enough for government work. Trust me, don't go measuring too many different things, because I promise in the end they will never measure up to your expectations.
