Prime Time extended warranty

I was just reading a thread on extended warranty. Someone said that the $150 second year warranty was not available on the Prime Time 5ers. Tell me this isn't so.

Welcome to the forum!

Unless something has changed recently, Prime Time doesn't offer the optional 2nd year warranty.

there should be a number of threads in this sub-forum that will echo what i've already posted. a quick search should turn up some of these posts.

some have posts from the PT rep that's a member here, stating no FR 2nd year warranty.
Prime Time was a recent acquisition by FR, along with Shasta, Coachmen, Viking and Dynamax.
so, they came with the warranty they had already been offering.

but i now seem to remember the PT rep, RV Guy i think, saying that the Sanibel line did get a 2nd year warranty.

That's correct. The only extended warranty for PTM is on the Sanibels.

Not trying to nit pick with you, but Prime Time was a brand new division of Forest River, not a recent acquisition.

There was no Prime Time before Forest River helped develop it in 2009. 2010 was the first year models....

Helped develop it with whom? I do find it interesting that a brand new division would not offer the 2nd year warranty. This question comes up a lot on this forum.

It's really too bad that Prime Time products don't qualify for this. I had fully intended on optioning one on delivery of our new 295RST.

Does anyone know of any other options which are worth the paper they are printed on?

There were also people from Keystone that quit their jobs to create Prime Time...

Can't answer why they didn't offer the 2nd year FR warranty, just know how they came to be. We were one of the first dealers to carry Prime Time products.

It's really not an "option".....there is a printed sheet included with FR products manual packet that is an offer for the owner to directly purchase a second year of factory warranty.

Options are what you order when you spec a unit out, like 16" rims, self leveling, Champagne package, etc.

2008Wildcat, I know that... I wasn't trying to say add it as an option.. Yikes..

I was asking if anyone has used any other third party options that turned out to be worthwhile.

So as to not cloud this thread (more than it already has), could you perhaps shoot me a PM to give me your perspective on Star / Interstate?

Warranty

After finding out that our Crusader 270RET was not going to qualify for a second year of warranty, we just put a couple of grand in the bank as an emergency fund. That was better that spending that much on some kind of warranty that may or may not cover anything..
