Prime Time Tracer Executive 2640 RLS
I took delivery of a 2013 Prime Time Tracer Executive 2640 RLS on Monday 25, 2013 from Terry Vaughn RV in Alvin, Texas. I had visited the dealer at least twice in the past few weeks mostly to get rid of that new RV itch. As you can see it did not work.
I had dealings with Terry Vaughn RV years ago before I owned a Travel Trailer when I would rent trailers from them and they have always been good to deal with. To be honest I don’t know why I did not buy my first Trailer from them.
When I arrived the salesman told me we damaged the door I need to show you that. He also told me that he had already ordered a new door. When I looked at the door I could not see any damage. Then he told me how to “see it”. There was a slight indentation in the door that you could feel but not see. If they had not told me I would not have known the damage was done. The important information is how it was damaged.
Terry Vaughn test units they sell for three days prior to delivery. They have the water pressure on the system for three days, run the refrigerator, the furnace, the water pump, they fill and dump all the tanks a few times and run the water heater with both electricity and propane. Basically they run everything in every possible way. While running the water heater on propane the aft door was latched open. When that door is latched open it is only about 5” from the heat discharge on the water heater door. You know, the one marked “HOT”. The heat from the water heater slightly deformed a spot on the door. I don’t think this would be a problem when heating with electricity, but it is an issue everyone with this model trailer should be aware of.
Everything else has been great so far. I’m currently sitting at Stephen F. Austin State Park in San Felipe, Texas checking everything out and figuring out where to put everything.
