PrimeTime response to Cap fade
This weekend, I was washing and inspecting my 2016 Lacrosse. Front cap at ground level was looking just fine. Crawled up on roof, and was inspecting things, and from that vantage point, the upper portion of the cap (as it slopes down) was fading... I though "great" One year warranty is expiring this month". Checked and yup.. it expired this past Sat.
Contacted PrimeTime directly. Was told no problem, it will be covered by warranty, and resolution is to repaint and put new decal. I just need to take to my dealer and they will "take care of it". Reason I contacted PT first was to hopefully get a straight answer (which I did), since my dealers Service Dept takes forever on warranty questions.
Just thought I'd share... Will see how the rest of the story unfolds.
Mike

Email back and forth with Nesa Wilson, service POC on primetimerv.com
I agree on not waiting long... Plan on visiting dealer in next day or two. Will probably have to bring the trailer in for them to look at it, and I will have that done by next Tuesday.
Hopefully it all works out... Holding my breath.

Probably faded from yours and Barb's beaming smiles, every time you go camping!

Is Nesa the contact for LaCrosse? My Crusader did not start fading until after the warranty period so I have to deal with it myself - just my luck. They did offer to send me a free decal but if I am paying for the re-do, I will not be advertising for them.

Nesa was the contact listed on the Primetimerv.com website. POC for service under the Contact Us tab.
Now, I can only hope that they will continue to sing that tune when my dealer actually contacts the warranty folks for the authorization.
One note.. I re-read the email I sent her. In it, I stated that I purchased the TT on 11 Feb 2016, and that I found the issue on Sunday, the 12th. I did not say "it was a one year warranty".. but one would hope/assume she figured that out. Im not saying anything else until I get ahold of my dealer.
y'all don't ruin it for me and all gang up on her now (BIG GRIN).

Or it's fading because it thinks we're not going for awhile.

Good luck with that woman, I'd be at a dealer TOMORROW! AND GET IT IN WRITING! These are the same people that told me the same thing "sure, no problem, we'll take care of it" it's still not painted, and never will be.

My 2015, started to fade 6 months after we purchased it in May of 2016. Primetime paid for the repairs and were very cordial about it. I believe that I am correct, but I understand that after this issue came up, they actually agreed to extend the warranty on the cap to 3 years.

I understand that the "cap manufacturer" is cooperating with the RV manufacturers and is offering a 30 month warranty on the cap only (from
DATE OF MANUFACTURE, NOT THE DATE YOU BOUGHT IT). So, check your stickers on the RV.

I went to the dealer today. Talked to warranty person, and sent her the pictures. She said it should not be a problem with the warranty, even though the one year has passed. She said PT is well aware of the issue, and she thought PT extended the warranty for the cap. She said she thought it was at least to the 18 month point. Regardless, she said should not be a problem. She will get authorization, and then have to wait for the decals and then will arrange for local paint/body shop to do the work.
I asked who they sub it out too, and she told me. I've dealt with the body/paint guy before and he does good work.
So far so good...
Mike

front cap fade
Has anyone ever just had a paint shop remove the sticker, and re-paint with something more durable? Your own artwork? Rhino coat?
I had a friend do this on the rear cap of his motor home, had a portrait of his dogs put on it. Looked great.
