Propane Hot Water Ignition Issues
I wanted to seek some advise on a issue we are having with our run of the mill Atwood 6 gallon hot water heater with electronic ignition. Our trailer is 4 months old and we have taken it on 5 weekend trips. During the past 3 trips it has been very difficult to get the hot water heater to fire up upon turning it on. Our mode of operation has been 1. propane is turned on for fridge cooling earlier that day. 2. Upon set up we turn on stove burners and exterior grill burners for a minute to make sure no air in line. 3. With electric hot water switch off we turn on the gas switch in the trailer and the heater electronic ignition will attempt to ignite the hot water heater pilot 2 or 3 times and then the red lock out light illuminates in the trailer. We will then switch the gas switch off and then on again through 15 to 20 more sequences until the pilot finally ignites.
I have brought the trailer back to the dealer for service and they say the cleaned the igniter contacts, but the problem continues. Any advice on what I should look at to try and remedy myself? Thanks
