Question PT Crew Memeber's Rally

RV Guy asked me on the "How Many Of Us" thread if I would try and organize a PT Crew Memeber's Rally. He has already stated that PT will participate.

After checking out our members and their locations I believe we will have more participation if we hold regional rallies. Of course any memeber can attend any and all rallies that they wish.

I also believe we should extend the invitation to any and all FRF members regardless of what FR RV they own. It would still be a PT Crew Memeber's Rally, just an open invitation to all.

So I ask that someone in each region to take charge and see if they can get a rally started. I will be more than happy to lead or help with a rally in my area (Oklahoma).

To aid those interested I am attaching a list of PT owners and their locations that I compiled from the "How Many Of Us" thread. All information was gathered from this forum, so no addtional personal info is disclosed. If I have listed incorrect info or left anyone out, I apologize and please let me know and I will correct it.

So let's see what we can come up with. Any ideas? At this point all suggestions are welcome, even if you don't think you will be able to attend.

I've already sent PM's to PT owners in Missouri, Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma. I have heard back from a couple that are interested.

Everything as far as dates and location is wide open at this time. I suggested SW Arkansas, SE Oklahoma or NE Teaxs. These area's seem to be middle ground except for maybe the Missouri members, but we could probably move the location further north if need be.

I have heard alot of good things about Arkansas's state parks, so that may be an option. The Hot Springs area should have alot to offer. Of course there are other places, just trying to get everyone thinking about it.

I would also like to again point out this ralley would be open to all FRF members, not just PT owners.

Let's hear your ideas and see what we can come up with.

Gary

P.S. Notice I learned how to spell "members" correctly since my original post! I keep tellin' my wife, "I are smart!"

Gary,

Sent you a pm... This is a great idea. My wife and I would definitely like to be apart of this. Late September or Early October would work best for us. June is out for sure as we can't make this trip in June... already booked for a week in early June and the rest of the month will be spent trying to catch up at work.

Alright!!!

Sept or Oct should give people time to plan. That always seems to be a nice time of the year to camp.
It will work for me. Hopefully more will join in before long and then we can start looking where to hold the rally.

So far tbritt, drb1256, HondoPatrick and EzEw504 have shown interest in the rally. So that makes 5 of us so far.

It's looking like a late summer early fall time slot (Sept or Oct). Maybe in SW Arkansas? I've checked out a few on RV Park reviews and there are a couple that seem interesting. Located close to the diamond mines. Just an idea. I haven't camped in that area, so I welcome any and all help. I'm trying to come up with a place that is centrally located between all of us.

Keep posting ideas. I know we'll get something worked out.

We would be also be interested in doing something in October around Columbus Day (planned on camping that month - just no final plans and this would work out great) any interest from members in our area?

Anybody know about the quality of the state parks in Arkansas? I checked out Millwood and Daisy state parks from the Arkansas state park directory. They both have water access and look to be pretty nice. I know the state parks in Texas are pretty well maintained. Anyway, just throwin it out there...

I don't know where it is, but we will be staying at Inks Lake State park the first week of June. I will look you up then and maybe we can get together to meet and greet!

As far as the rally goes, I have had these respones through PM's.
rippa - maybe
EzEw504 - maybe
drb1256 - yes
grhodes50 - yes
tbrit - yes
HondoPatrick - yes

If I have your response wrong or if you have changed your mind, please let me know.

Sept or Oct seems to be everyone's choice. The weekend of Sept 24th & 25th is out for me, family gathering. I'm good other than that. I'm tryin' to give people time to work it out. Hopefully we'll have a definite date within a couple of weeks.

SW Arkansas seems to be okay with everyone as well. I'm not familiar with the area so I've looked on RV Park Reviews :: Arkansas and I haven't found much until you get to Murfreesboro or further north. If anyone knows of a good place, please let me know. I've been looking for a campground that can reserve 10 to 15 sites for the rally, FHU's, club house/meeting room and a good local restaurant. Also interesting attractions in the area would be nice.

I probably should have posted this thread under the rally section of this forum and maybe we should name the rally "FROG Rally, PT Owners Edition" or something along that line. We might get more response. I really would like to see FRF members who own other FR brands feel welcome and participate.

P.S. I know it's about 3:45 in the morning. I have a built in alarm clock in my lower back. Only problem is, it's unreliable! It's not suppose to go off for another hour!

Gary we're close to what your looking for...
16 sites
7 FHU (but we have a dump)
5 sites 30/50
11 sites 30 and water
Full restrooms and showers
We can use the barge for a meeting room!!
A couple of good places to eat close by
Attractions all over the Hill country.
Sept our last busy month and we're closed Oct thru March, so a Oct date should be a snap.
Run Inks Lake or 78611 on Yahoo maps and you'll get an idea of where we're at, may be too far south for some.

I am in Central PA and from the list posted earlier there are many crew members surrounding this location (Maryland, Ohio, New York, West Virginia, etc). If there is enough of interest I could inquire at a favorite campground of mine for sites toward the end of September. The park is only open through the end of September. Check out the link to their web site: Knoebels Amusement Resort.

We're interested. Hope some more PT owners around us will show interest and we can get something together.

Mini rallies

Sound good for now but one day we need a BIG one for the PT guy's & gals. Gary maybe we should look at Degray Lake In AR. close to mid state. Went there a few years ago and it was nice, don't know if the have a website or not...just my two cents

Sounds good. Give me a few days to get some things out of the way and I'll get busy on it.
Thanks, Gary

This sounds like fun, just not sure if we could make it or not. Would depend on the date and location. We are also planning on taking a 2 - 3 week trip to Nova Scotia this summer. This will be our first real long trip, so I am sure we will learn a lot from this adventure. Unfortunately work gets in the way at times ;-)
Best Wishes,
Chuck
