Purchased from private party/ Cap oxidation

I purchase a 2014 Lacrosse 318bhs from a private party. We are very please with the overall condition and quality of the Lacrosse product.
I am now experiencing the dreaded "Cap Oxidation" issue.
Does the factory warranty transfer from the original owner??
Based on members experience, do you believe FR will be willing to assist with this issue since it appears to be an obvious manufacturing defect?

Thank you in advance!

I doubt FR will extend the warranty to a subsequent purchaser. They might have for the original owner based on my experience with FR HQ. I'm not familiar with your unit, but I have had experience with boat hull oxidation. You might check with shurhold.com to see if they have any products and videos that might help you.

Nope, factory warranty only applies to the initial purchaser.
You can try to color sand and buff it, but for a permanent fix you will need to paint it.
It's not really a manufacturing defect really, its just cheap gelcoat doesn't withstand as much UV exposure without breaking down. There is a considerable cost difference between a basic gelcoat and a high quality gelcoat that won't damage from uv exposure very quickly.

Good luck!

Nope, warranty doesn't transfer.
In fact, virtually no RV manufacturer allows for such a transfer anymore.
Maybe 2 or 3.

Think twice before using it...........I remember this coming out in my boating days and yes it can make it look better and yes it is easy to apply, but once it starts to break down......you'll be wishing you had not used it. It's basically floor polish. It will mask the original problem.

Warranty didn't cover my issue, which showed up 18 mo after purchase new in 2012. I was on my own and probably so are you.
