Radio Comes ON

I know this has been posted before but I did a search and came up empty. I read about this but didn't pay attention because it wasn't happening. Well guess what!! The radio/CD player in the bedroom of our 290 Crusader mysteriously turns on all by itself. Solution again please.

Don't know if you have the same radio but in this thread it sounds like the radio was coming on due to a timer.

I don't believe it was a timer. My radio bar in our Crusader 320 began coming on when we first got it. It mysteriously stopped. Last trip it came on again. I believe its a frequency issue from other remotes in the vicinity.

I believe there is an alarm feature on the Clock radio in the bedroom. I have heard that the sound bar can be activated by a car remote nearby. It has been reported that the Chevrolet Remote is the culprit. On my 290RLT, I have only had the RCA Sound bar come on by itself one time. When I looked outside, my next door camper friend was opening his Chevrolet Truck!!

Trailblazer,

That might explain why it doesn't happen to me very often, I drive Fords.

Sometimes the radio's come on due to a weather alert. I know ours did. I fixed it by putting a switch on the power wire to the radio. It comes on when I turn on the power switch.

Ours comes on randomly all the time. Usually in the middle of the night. I will have to look and see if anyone is using remotes next time. It's very annoying so I usually keep it unplugged now.

.
the radio in our TT (don't remember the brand or model) was doing the "coming on" thing

'cept for music over Christmas we never listen to the thing - so I've unplugged it - don't miss it - not interested in investigating "what's up".....Bill

Ours does the same thing! Usually shortly after finally getting all the kids to sleep. It will come on what seems like full volume for no reason.
