Replacing Kitchen Faucet 27.0RET

OK Guys,
Here is the question I want to replace the faucet in our kitchen (old one leaks). The problem is we have the old one still in and am thinking of changing from PEX to standard pipe and install 2 shutoff valves to go with the new faucet? So anyone done this before................Let me know as we are going forward tomorrow.

I've changed out a faucet set and should have done what you're suggesting as re-attaching the PEX lines to the new faucet was a nightmare!

If you're buying from Lowes, HD, they'll have everything that you'd need. Just tell the sales asst. that you're converting from 1/2" PEX to whatever comes with the new faucet...probably 1/4" braided line.

Yes, that is the plan. It is 1/4" braided line, just plan to get the valves.....try to get it Not to Leak. Thanks

So it sounds like all you need is a PEX to 1/4 NPT adapters and 1/4" ball valves paying attention that you got the male/female ends correct.

what I plan is to use is valve with 1/4" NPT outlet so will connect right to faucet.

I was forced to change my broken faucet but wanted to swap to one with a pull-out spray. The new faucet plumbing didn't match the old one, so to avoid buying PEX tools I just bought two flexible braided M-F 24" hoses and connected them between the existing supply pipes and the new (and differently located) faucet connectors.

Worked quite good, and you can get those braided hoses c/w Shut-off valves.
