rough weekend

After having to fix a flat (blowout) on our 4 month old trailer, losing a small structural bolt on my zero grav lounger & having our dinette table top self destruct when DW put some weight on it while making it up as a bed for ghe first time, we are ready to home. The lounger is no big deal, these things happen, but to other 2 are bothersome. Turns out the opening for the dinette table isnt square and the construction of the table top is 2 thin layers of particle board. It was too near the edge on one side and just separated and a decent size chunk broke off. Sigh.

That one is easily a warranty item but what about the blowout on a basically new tire? Think that should be covered?

Sounds like a nightmare of a trip! I would think the tire should be under warranty as well. Good luck!

Yikes! Not inspiring. Curious, what brand/make/model of tire did your Lacrosse come equipped with? Any damage to the TT as a result of the blowout?

Sorry to hear. Really sucks when that stuff happens. I had one trip years ago where I had to buy a new set of truck tires, alternator and broke a TV set off its stand. Almost gave up Rv ing over that one. You'll get past it.

Tomax STR st325/75r15 2-ply radial steel belts

Don't see any other damage. Don't know if the wheel is damaged.

Did you check the tire pressures before you started your trip? I know from experience that a tire can be 15# low and you won't be able to see that there's anything wrong on these tandem axle setups. Under-inflated tires overheat.

In your owners manual packet that should have came with your new La Crosse, there should be proper care and warranty information on the tires supplied with the camper. Mine had Carlisle 14" load range C 205 75 R14's on it, and I had 2 blow out, at different times. I made sure before each trip that they had 50 lbs of air in them, as well. The second one blew out after they were 4 years old, so I replaced the remaining 3 with new tires. I hear the NEW Carlisle tires are good now. Randy

I forgot to mention; my Carlisles were pro-rated for age, and I was on a trip 450 miles from home in the keys, and had to get what I could find there. Yours being basically new should be close to a free replacement of the tire. Randy
