Running a LaCrosse 329 on 30 Amps
We spent a long 4th of July weekend at Fort Parker State Park in central Texas (a nice little park but the turn-arounds are a little tight for a bigger trailer). When we arrived it was 93 degrees with 75% humidity so after setting up and plugging into the 30 amp circuit I fired up the back AC and then waited a few minutes and then started the front one and nothing tripped. We ran like that for an hour until the trailer cooled down to 70 when we shut one down and were able to use the kitchen to get some dinner going.
I did check the breaker and 50 to 30 amp adapter and nothing was warm so that was a good sign, and my meter showed 119 volts. On the 30 amp circuit the single AC was able to keep the trailer under 75 during the day (kids and dogs seemed to keep the door open most of the time) and cycling during the evening and mornings, switch the refrigerator over to electric, and use the TV, blender, and waffle maker. I guess I should make a test adapter so that I can get at the individual legs to check amp load, but that is for another day.
