Screen door handle, you need one
This is one of those things you don't know you need until you have it and then you don't want to live without it.
Camco 42183 Screen Door Cross Bar (Black)
I have young kids and they were always struggling with the screen door and pulling on the wrong part to get it to close. I've found the bar much easier for me.
This is one of those things that the RVs should come with (kind of like those missing toilet paper holders).

agree. 1 of the first mods I did on our trailer was put the grab bar on.

Haven't gotten the bar yet thought I would share our solution for a screen guard which I admit I grab on to to shut the door. No need to drill holes or use screws. PVC lattice fits perfectly in door channel. BF added a few pieces of velcro @ the top.
No children just dogs.

I agree with you. These should automatically come on screen doors. We have 2 doors and have installed them on both. Bathroom door has 2 bars since there is not a grab handle to get up the steps. My youngest is 4 and on the short side, so he needs all the help he can get.

We happened to see one at Walmart a few days ago while shopping, same price as Amazon. It was easy to install and nice to have!

Yes, the grab bar/handle is definate must. Like others I suggest a screen protector of some type on the lower portion of the screen door. I went to Lowes, purchased a screen protector, cut down the attachment tabs, drilled holes, painted it black, then put it on the door. Does the job of saving screen door. Hope pictures oriented correctly.

I also find the bar a great benefit for grabbing and closing the screen door. Surprisingly, the best price I found was at HOME DEPOT online with free store delivery - about half the price of Camping World..

Bought at Camping World for $7.97 on sale. Added Plexiglas at the bottom of the door so the young dog does not go tumbling out.

Our first 2 mods were the bar and a screen guard. The only problem I foresee would be in using the bar to close the door while it is coupled to the exterior door. It seems to put considerable stress on the flimsy plastic screen door latch where it connects to the outer door. I plan to purchase the metal replacement handle mentioned in another post on this forum. We didn't care for the gas strut on the exterior door because it didn't allow the door to open fully and it didn't hold the door well in breezy conditions. I removed the strut and added a 4" T type door holder and a bumper stop so the door cannot hit our tilt out window.

Put one on our FR Wildcat fifth wheel and was one of the first modifications I made on our new motorhome. I had the black ends with the aluminum bar but didn't like the aluminum color so I painted it black.
Didn't like the black paint on the aluminum so I took 1" heat shrink tubing slid it on the handle (just fits) and shrunk it in place. Looks great and gives the handle a rubber feeling.

One of my first mods were the grab bars on both the doors of my TT. My friend who installed my grab bars was suitably impressed so I purchased him a bar for his 5er as a thank you gift for helping me. My sister was suitably impressed the first time she was in my TT so she purchased a grab bar for her DH to install in their 5er. Not sure why it took me so long to find the grab bar at CW but certainly am glad I did.
