Youroo, that my friend, is halarious. What makes it, is the frustration having something like that happen, and the comment you made, puts it into perspective.

The sad thing is, the manufacture will most likely send me the same junk tube to replace it.

I would save myself alot of frustration and replace the hose with proper pex tubing..for sure FR will send you the same stuff, thats what they use and they will simply replace it, but there is enough history of it not being great that do yourself a favor and just replace it once. Thats why I mentioned that in an earlier post, I monkeyed around with that crap hose for a week or so till an RV mechanic suggested I replace the tubing....took just a few minutes and solved all my issues...and its a cheap fix.

That pipe is melted! I'd be very interested in seeing a longer portion of tube like this. I am in the plastic pipe business (HDPE) and that print line will tell everything about that pipe. Guarantee it wasn't for use over 100deg or so.

OK, so I have to ask the question that is burning in my brain. Other than saving pennies in cost for the manufacturer, why use that hose in the water system and not just use pex throughout? I'll be replacing my H20 heater bypass valve (ceased half open) this weekend and I have that hose in several places. There's blue hose and white hose. I've not pulled any off to measure, but isn't it the same inside diameter as the blue/red pex in the system? Not sure if anyone here can answer, but I'm just thinking out loud.

If my TT were out of warranty i'd be replacing it with PEX if it was bad. They won't put PEX in RV's because there are ASTM standards on all pipe and this sleeved crap is what is the ASTM standard for RV's is....
