Thanks Daisy! Good to know.

I've just heard from my dealer. Our rig is ready. They adjusted the slide and in my case found sharp edges that were rubbing causing the darco to tear. They have dealt with that and repaired the fabric.

We will see if it will last.

Picking up ours tomorrow. They also said they adjusted the slide. No mention of replacing the fabric. Will update soon.

Picked up my unit from the dealer on Saturday morning. According to my dealer they found the sharp edge that was tearing the fabric on my slide.

I've attached before and after pictures which show that the tear was repaired with fabric tape. After only one trip and a few full run of the slide I can feel the tape wearing already though.

Also I've attached a picture which shows wear on the opposite edge of the same slide.

It appears I had 2 seperate issues. The first being the sharp edge (or screwhead) that was causing the tear. I am confident that is fixed. The second is general wear, which I do not believe has been fixed. The dealer informed me they adjusted the slide to try and fix the wear. I think this might be a fix, but likely only if the slide is carefully adjusted. Perhaps even someone with more experience.

Not sure, but suffice to say the unit will be making another trip back to my dealer in the future.

The first picture shows the tear, which is on the door side of the kitchen slide. The second picture shows the dealer repair. The last picture shows the opposite (rear side) of the kitchen slide, showing wear.

Thanks for the update.
I tried the tape fix (Gorilla Tape), but considering the weight of the room, there is simply to much friction.

I've run my atrium slide in and out several times since my laminate fix and so far I'm pretty pleased with the results.
It's going into storage tomorrow, so it won't see any duty until next May.

Stay on it friends. This is obviously a design flaw seen across several brands.

Frustrating...................
Okay, I been thinking about this for awhile.
Its a Band-aid and ban-aids need to be changed to stop infections.
1. why only tape on one side and not both? They can see the back side is wearing too.
2. That tape (darco tape) is the same stuff my dealer put on when I started this thread. IMO it will not last!
It will fray and wear but at a much slower rate then the fabric, mine is.

My tape look like yours after it was done. Here is a pic of what it looked like after a few trips.Click image for larger version

My unit is at the dealers now and there going to be talking to prime time.
Im thinking tape on the slide ends will be part of routine maintenance from here out.
Hope it works but I would keep a close eye on it
Still think the a some sort wear strip that wraps around the corner of the slide would be good.

Picked up our 295rst crusader this past Saturday. Dealer said they also adjusted the slide. They did not replace the fabric because I wanted the Rev back to winterize. They did go ahead and order the fabric to replace. Said it would be a few weeks and knowing I wanted it back, they said they can do it in the spring.

I have had no issues with this dealer Alphin Haus of port Jervis NY. They took care of any issue (and most were 3rd party components)

Not sure what exactly gets adjusted when adjusting a slide. Hopefully this solves the wear.

Does anyone have a recent update on the slide wear issue, our six month old crusader 295rst is showing the same type of wear on the edges as other people are seeing. Iwas thinking about maybe trying a strip of nylon .016 thick x 2 inch wide since nylon is a good friction reducer might need a little thicker due to weight. Hopefully primetime has a fix better than tape.

After the adjustment to mine, the wearing seems to be slowing, and/or stopping. PT sent me a roll of darco tape which I will use on the edges. We will see.

Considering the silence from anyone with Forest River or Prime Time I think they are playing the waiting game until we all give up.

What "silence" are you referring to?? RV Guy from PTM gave a very good description of what they were seeing and working on. I'm sure you would like to see a solution in a week so you could then complain about a lack of quality.

These things take time. Be patient. Be happy that you have an RV where the company is actually working to resolve your problems instead of ignoring you.

I understand they are taking each case individually.
I myself haven't seen a good fix yet from pt or seen any post from pt in months on this. Working on a fix ??? Tape fabric and sealant.that's what I read here. My tape fix is wearing threw. Gonna have to do it next year again or opt for something else.
Have to take my unit back in a few weeks. I will ask my dealer to talk to pt again.
The people at prime time I've talked to have been great but I would like to see a good fix.

Just picked up our trailer from our dealer, General RV. They installed plastic wear strips under both sides of the slideout. At this time it looks like it may be a good fix.

Which General Rv location is your dealership? Ours is in Brownstown, MI & I'm hoping it's the same dealer so they already know of the problem & the fix they did to your unit. Looks good!

That is the same that comes on the Rockwood, It works well, I had one torn up by staples that were to high, had it replaced no problem since.
