Here is our update
The dealer went to bat to get our extended warranty to cover our repair after initially telling us no warranty would cover
However, with our deductible and two trips up to dealer to drop off and pickup , we decided to have a mobile tech come to our house for the same price
Dealer countered back they would take $$ off deductible and pick up unit but we would have to get it when done
Still was cheaper to have mobile tech and they will be installing new awning fabric at same time
Dealer had slide wear strips sent to us from FR at no cost - we will be having mobile service install them on BOTH of our large slides in the spring - only one is showing wear but we are doing both now
We will be having the darco material removed on the worst slide and treating the exposed wood with a line-x type material in addition to the wear strips
Other slide will get just wear strips
Parts are approx $35 per set - you get two pieces to do front and back edge of slide
The slide will be jacked up slightly to insert wear strips

Yea North Trail RV here in FL has a 3 1/2 month wait time just to get in, dealer 1 1/2 hrs away from my house have done work for me two times before hope they can squeeze me in (snow bird season here in FL keeps the dealers busy). Problem I have is local Forest River dealers can deny me service because "Prime Time" is not proper Forest River just like we can't purchase the extended two year Forest River warranty kind of moronic really.

Would imagine they will want me to take the Crusader into the dealer for me that's the worst part 1 1/2 hrs to drop off 1 1/2 hrs to come home and repeat for pick up such a hassle.
I fix what I can on my own & don't go to the dealer unless I have to. So can someone explain the installation process?

I did it myself. Was pretty easy.
1. Removed the existing trim pieces.
2. Extend slide almost all they way out, but before it sets down into the out position.
3. Slighty jack one end of the slide to install the additional trim piece. I used a floor jack with scrap 6x6's to reach high enough
4. Repeat other end of slide.
5. Replace trim pieces and caulk. I installed them upside down. Seemed to fit better with the additional thickness of the new trim.
I didn't have to do any adjustment of the slide mechanism.

A "Mobile RV" tech is the only alternative I can think of now. Sorry.
Stinks that dealers are getting away with that. I bet that would not hold water with a FR company rep...

Might be a good idea to inform the tech about the fridge slide construction.
See #3 in this post from the rvguy. Laminated Floorbrace
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...tml#post457231
From that post:
Most of our Kitchen slides in all brands are made in-house using laminated construction due to the increased weight loads. With a laminated floor, the bottom exterior layer is a product called FloorBrace. FloorBrace is comprised of multiple layers of cross-weaved polyester fibers designed to breath yet provide moisture protection. Adding the laminated layer of FloorBrace increases the strength of the floor as well. The inner layers of FloorBrace are white.

The layer next to the darco wrap is plain cheap OSB - we can see it very definitely in the worst area of gouging
I will inform the tech though

Many Berkshires have had this problem, they sent me 5 plates, 8" wide, 22" long made of 1/8 alum with holes that I mounted on bottom of slide. Not hard to do, just took some time. They provided the plates free of charge.

Guess Rick is gone this is the response I received today. Called Larry he did not know a thing about this. Bring it to the dealer have them file a warranty claim is what I was told. Larry did not even know the part numbers or has ever heard of this issue.
Local dealer ONE; yea we can get to you in 3 ½ to 4 months by then my warranty will be over how convenient for them.
Local dealer number two,
Dealer: did you purchase from us?
Me; No,
Dealer: what brand?
Me: Prime Time
Dealer: we don’t service that brand.
Me: It’s a Forest River product why not?
Dealer: Because we reserve the right to not service brands we do not sell even if it’s under the Forest River umbrella.
Me: pissed off said noting but “thank you”.
Love it! NOT.. anyone know what the part numbers are? Are the panels universal? This is happening on my large side (only have two).

Too bad Rick was very helpful. You could ask for Shane Imus or Rodger. They both are very much aware of this problem. The prime time part numbers are in the first post of this thread. Make sure pt marks it in your file so you have record of reporting it.
What model do you have?

Will call PT today hopefully Neil Wilson or Shane Imus are still at PT since they know about the issue.
Part numbers provided were for your large slide?

Thats what they sent - we have a 325RES with the kitchen/sofa slide and a large deeper slide on door side with table and recliners
Kitchen slide is not as deep
We are doing both large slides - they sent two sets - probably have to trim one set

We are having a mobile tech install - they are also putting on new awning fabric same trip
We could do all work ourselves but going to hire this job out - worth the money to let someone else on the ladders and on the ground 😊
Tech has done this work before so we will figure it out - four pieces of plastic should not be that hard
