Slideout Seals

On our 2014 Sanibel 3050 and the seals sometimes fold under when we extend the slides. It's such a problem that I climb on top and check them each time. The dining room side seals are the biggest problem.
Question #1 - should the seals fold under when slide is retracted and fold out when the slide is extended?
Question #2 - is there any preventive measure that I need to be doing?
I took it to the dealer and they sprayed them with conditioner and sent me on my way. Didn't fix the problem and we're about 600 miles from the dealer now.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks

The seals are like windshield wipers, they have to change directions.

Hi. Our 2014 Sanibel 3501 has the same problem. Prime Time Mfg. confirmed that the seals should not do that and has agreed to replace all of the seals. They have already sent materials to our rv dealer. Our trailer is currently at the dealership for repairs. Good luck!

Sometimes the seals on my lacrosse will act like this. I will manually pull them out if they are folded in. Dealer change a few them for another problem, no difference.
As long at it seals, that's what most important.
I use 303 aerospace on my seals. The 303 attracts less dirt then seal conditioner. I have use baby powder before and that works well.

Mine do the same thing, I just pull them out when it happens, I have started to use 303 also but it will still hang on the side now and then.....

I use a spatula from the inside to push out the rubber flap. Open the slide 3/4 and use the plastic spatula from the inside to push the seal out.

That happened once in awhile on our FR Surveyor Sport 220 as well. I started to wax the side walls of the slider to help the seals 'slide' easily and that seemed to help quite a bit. I also use the Aerospace protectant or Slide seal stuff every time the slide is out too. But I still check the seals every time the slide is out, both sides and top and adjust the seals as needed. Hope this helps!

oops, more

Oh, I also check and put seal protect stuff on the bottom seal as well every time the slide is out; did you know there's a seal down there, too? I didn't for awhile until I looked and dadgum if there isn't a seal down there.
