I personally think you should do whatever you want. Someone full timing will have them out all the time with the exception of traveling which would be just a few hours a day. They are built to be out. Needless to say, the exposure to the elements will be much greater if left out, used or not used, which in that case it would be better to have them in if not being used.

Bottom line is you have to determine what is best for your own situation.
