Spare Tire Winch Weight Capacity

I have upgraded my tires on my 2013 Sanibel to Goodyear G614s. I still have the Marathon tire on the steel spare and am looking at replacing the spare with a G614. My question, "What is the weight capacity of the spare tire winch located under the unit? The replacement tire will increase the weight 19 lbs from 67.2 lbs to 86.2 lbs.

Also, make sure that if you're reusing the original steel rim, that it is rated for the G614 tire pressure.

Definitely. 1st thing I check was the capacity. Lucky for me it is a #3750 capacity wheel. I verified it with the supplier and they confirmed that it is good to go with the G614.

I have the same question. Just replaced my tires with G614's on my Sanibel. Original tires are complete crap. Not worried about the cable as the winch system itself. I also replaced it but with the same one. Will the internal gears hold up?

I replaced my Goodyear Marathons this spring on my 2015 Sanibel with Sailun S637 load range H tires in 17.5 inch and love the tires. I also replaced the steel spare with a new 17.5 alum rim. The T03 alum rims that came on the unit were not rated for any pressure above 80 PSI so all the rim were replaced. The spare tire carrier is fine with this load and this wheel and tire are close to 100 pounds.

The Aluminum wheels that came with my 2013 Sanibel are T06 style rated and stamped for 110 psi service. I contacted Tredit Tire and Wheel company, which was the company that supplied PrimeTime with the wheels and tires for my unit, and they confirmed the rating and stated that the G614s were good to go on that wheel and additionally confirmed that the spare wheel was rated for 3750 lbs (110 psi).

After upgrading my tires to the GY 614s, I contacted Prime Time to verify if the installed spare tire winch would support the additional 19 lbs. They contacted the vendor, conducted testing and communicated to me that the winch was tested with more weight than what I had. Phonecall to Lippert Technical revealed a load rating of 150 lbs for their winch, which looks identical to the one installed on my unit.

Did you order the Lippert Spare Tire Winch? If so, it is rated for 150 lbs (according to Lippert tech). I replace my spare tire/steel wheel with a GY614 to match what I had on the riding ones. This brought up the spare tire weight from 67.2 to 86.2 lbs. The steel wheel was stamped #3750 rating on the back.

BBBlue thanks for your post very good info here. My 2015 Sanibel came with T03 Aluminum rims. I had to send all the information of the back of the rim to Triedt tire and wheel also in order to determine that they were T03. The T03 rim is not able to handle above the load range E tire installed as OEM. So Prime Time has gone even cheaper with the wheels. Just did not want others to think that they were good to go with higher load range tire without checking the rims first.
