Surge protector

Sorry for many questions. But this is first time for us and need all the help we can get.
2015 Lacrosse 318BHS. Is a Surge Protector necessary?.

Depends on your piece of mind, and level of insurance. Only takes one shot to ruin the whole shebang !!

Many threads on this. My answer is yes- get an EMS. It's like insurance- it only takes once for you to be glad you have it. Really hard to get the magic smoke back in all the boxes if you don't.

Surge protector

Surge protector, no. EMS, generally. Lots of times, you can get away without one. I did it for a few years without issue.

That said, in a year of fulltiming- I had 3 instances of issues. 1 miswired pedestal and 2 instances of low voltage.

Here's all you need to know:

Depends on how much extra money you have and how adverse to risk you are...

Me the money was well spent on an EMS, which is a bit more than just a surge protector. It protects from under voltage, over voltage and mis-wired pedestals.

Ok ... so here is another question. Husband and I are with different oppinions. Husband says search protectors are installed in the trailer. I say they are installed outside in the camp electrical pedestal. Now, who is right?.
