On your way to NM. See if you can swing down to Big Bend National Park in West Texas. Thats really all I can suggest. Oh and yes that Meteor site in AZ is very cool. Wife and I enjoyed.

To add onto my earlier post. If you would like to spend a few days in Southern AZ. Another option separate from Kartchner Caverns SP is Tombstone Territories RV Park. It's in a central location close to Kartchner Caverns, Tombstone and Bisbee.

Bisbee is an old mining town with a rich history, alot of shops and a mine tour at the Queen Mine. We did the mine tour last Sat and had a great time there.

Also if you are going to do Kartchner and only have time for 1 tour (there are 2) I would recommend the Rotunda/Throne Room over the Big Room.

Go to Heard Museum in Phoenix. WONDERFUL Native American museum. Full of pottery, baskets, etc . . . lots of Anasazi artifacts.

I agree Mesa Verde is worth the visit. Be aware that if your are traveling thru and stop there you will have to drop the trailer at the bottom.
C class motor homes only ones allowed to go up. And it's a good rule.

Palo Duro Canyon SP, just below Amarillo is good spot also.
