Tire Warranty???

I found these two semi circle cuts on the sidewall of one of my tires.

Do you guys think the warranty will cover this?
I've contacted my dealer and sent pics to Brandon York at PT. Hopefully I'll get an answer tomorrow.

My bet is it won't be covered as it looks like a road hazard damage versus a flaw in the tire.

Don't really know how or when I did it. All the other tires look good. I was cleaning the tires and rims this morning when I discovered the cuts.

I know that cuts or punctures located on the sidewall isn't normally covered. Just thought I would ask and see if anyone might have had some luck with sidewall damage.

Wishful thinking I guess!

Maybe the time to replace all with something better. Any suggestions?

I've read about some buying Goodyear Marathons (sp?). Anyone purchased these? If so how are they holding up.

Also looking at your picture, I would tend to believe that this is only cosmetic damage, there doesn't appear to be any separation in the cuts that would lead to any problems.

The cuts are about 1/16" deep. Enough that I don't trust that the tire will hold up. Especially in this 100º + weather. I've read enough about what damage a blowout can cause and I would rather be safe than sorry.

I wouldn't replace them all, Maybe just replace the tire with the spare and use this tire as the spare. I just returned from a trip of over 2200 mile with these crappy tires and they are fine. I checked the air-pressure every stop. And didn't run over 65mph per the tire side wall info. I was on the road a span of 5-hours...needed gas(filled up, checked pressures) then another 5-hours. They (tire's) are fine and have very little ware on them, I checked them after returning home, they still looking like new. I feel very strongly about this; People that are having blow-out's aren't checking tire pressures and are going faster than 65mph with these tires,plus possibly over loading the campers.. When I was on the Interstate, you should have seen the people flying buy me! and I was going around 62mph. JMHOP. - Hope you can find some answers about the tire. I wouldn't replace them all.

BigRed, I did think about doing that and I may still do it. Just a thought about replacing and maybe gaining some peace of mind by doing so.
I agree with you about the tire pressure and speed. I keep a close eye on my tv and wive's car as well. I was just telling my DIL the same thing yesterday. It's been well into the 100's the past week or so and I travel I-40 4 or 5 times a week. When temps get up like that I see all kinds of vehicles, large, small - new, old, on the side of the road with tire problems.

Gary, Goodyear Marathons came on my trailer, and so far no problems......except where the chinese factory "buffed" my spare trying to get it round.

Goodyear finally consented and gave me a new tire.

I plan on trying to get american made Marathons when the time comes to replace.

Like others, I think I would just move that cut tire to the spare, and get some mileage out of your current tires.

Yeah mine is the same way. I would probably just take them to a local tire shop and have them swap 'em around.

I know you've read it before Gary, but for the lurkers: All trailer tires are basically the same. Keep them out of the sun, roll them often, stay at/under the marked speed limitations (usually 65 or under), and you'll be fine.

Picked up my tire and wheel today. Exact match of course.
The small sidewall cuts may have been alright, but I didn't want to find out they weren't while traveling at 60 mph down the interstate.
Thanks to Prime Time, I won't have to worry about it.
