too close - meltdown

come back to the camper last night and only had battery power. smelled something and this is what I found.

the plug melted and when we disconnected it the black wire was barely attached

not good

Where was that? Doesn't look like any factory electric I've ever seen.

it's the end if the power chord and the plug from the plug from the camper that it plugs in to.

(I took the yellow boot off to see the damage and take a pic)

X2. That was going to be my question. It looks like a replacement plug and it's kind of difficult to see, but that ground wire in the back and connector in the front look pretty thin. Could just be difficult to tell perspective.

High resistance due to water ingress and corrosion will do this. My guess is there is some green copper wire there somewhere!

The local dealer in st Jacobs sells these. I returned mine asked for a Marinco moulded system. The being said I carry a female and male 30 amp twist lock in case of an emergency,
