Tracer 3150bhd Bunk House TV mount

Just wondering if anyone has mounted a flat screen in the entertainment area of the bunk house. I've considered doing so but not sure if the construction would warrant me having to install something to attach the mount to. Does anyone know if this area has anything that could server as an anchor point?

Does your floor plan have the TV area in the middle of more on the back side? We have the Tracer 3150BHD which is essentially the same floor plan, but they had a mid-year change and placed a counter top on the back side... so from left to right we have the wardrobe door, the ladder, then the counter top with drawers under it. I'm looking at a surface mount TV holder that I can just secure on the counter top.

Ours is in the same place as yours, toward the back, wardrobe, ladder, counter top. Great idea about mounting to the countertop! Off to monoprice.com I go, best and cheapest place online for this type stuff.

In looking at it, it seemed like you might want to swing it out a bit to give everyone a chance to see in unobstructed. I thought an actuating arm that allows you to fold it back again the wall for travel, and out for viewing would be the best bet.

Think I found one, at $8 it's worth a shot.

For only $7.00 each when QTY 50+ purchased - LCD LED Cabinet Mount Bracket - Black | Ceiling / Under Cabinet Mounts for Flat Panel Displays

How will you mount this to the counter? Send me a link if you got one to what you were thinking. I'm more concerned with just securing it for travel rather than have to take it out and lay it somewhere each time.

On my LaCrosse 318BHS, (same basic layout) I mounted a 23" Samsung LCD back there. I used some short 2x4's stained to match the interior to attach the LCD mount to. I basically screwed the 2x4's to the wall framing and then used those to attach the mount to with short screws.

Once the TV was mounted, you cannot even see the 2x4 blocks and its very sturdy.

Hope this helps,
John

Hey John - how did you locate the wall framing? Stud finder? If so, is this aluminum studs or wood? What type of screw did you use to secure the 2x4's?

You could use a stud finder, but they're really easy to find behind the thin wall paneling. My studs were wood in that area. Basically right behind the outdoor kitchen...

I used a 2.5" deck screw to secure the 2x4 to the wall. I then used a 1.25" deck screw to attach the tv mount to the 2x4..

Excellent, thanks for the input! I'll open the cabinets in the outdoor kitchen to see where they attached. Make this a fall project, too darn hot to work in there now!

I can take a picture, but it looks like an LCD TV mounted in that area... You cannot even see the blocking...

I'll see what I can do..
