Tracer 3175RSD 2nd A/C

We just traded our 2014 Avenger 32RED for a 2016 Tracer 3175RSD. The single air conditioner in the avenger was inadequate for our Louisiana summers and feel that the Tracer will have the same problem. The new Tracer runs off of 50amp service and is pre-wired for a second air conditioner to be installed in the vent above the bedroom. I have replaced an a/c unit on a previous camper so I am not afraid to do the work myself.

The Tracer currently has a 13.5k BTU ducted unit over the living area. Should I go with a 13.5k or 15k over the bedroom? Or should I move the 13.5k currently on the rv to the bedroom and install a 15k in its place?

I am not sure I would mess with moving the13.5k to the bedroom. I would definitely install a 15k for the second AC though. I have 2 15k's in mine and love it.

If you've got 50 amp might as well get 15k high efficiency.

I would move the 13.5k to the bedroom and install a new 15k in the livingroom. If you do this, you'll need to buy ceiling mounted controls (underside unit) for the 13.5k. Hopefully you'll be able to use the current underside unit on a 15k.

The bedroom is a much smaller area so I would consider moving the 13.5 there and installing a 15.5 for the main area. Installing the AC is not that hard if you have some help for the heavy lifting.

13.5 to the bedroom and the 15 to the main living area
