warranty work

The slide out seal has apparently come unattached (about 10" 0f it). My dealer tells me that it will take 3-4 weeks to get a replacement. This seems an excessive amount of time for what should be a factory stock part. I had other 5th wheels by another manufacture and was able to get parts much sooner.

My bedroom slide out seal was repaired in less than a week for warranty work. It wasn't even done where I purchased it.

Yours may be different but it is a point of reference.

General RV did tne warranty work

Mine gets to go back to the factory to fix the issue causing my slide seals to pull away from the sides. Make sure you find the cause as they shouldn't be failing already. As for getting the parts... when my dealership needed to order some parts, they told me it takes a minimum of 7-10 days to get a part shipped to them if forest river had it in stock. They said it could take a few weeks if they didn't. I had a major slide failure fixed plus a microwave replaced in 14 days by that dealership. Just food for thought.

asquared, what is causing slide seals to pull away? Are you talking about the side wall sweeps?

When I managed to wreck my front baggage door on my Crusader, from the time the order was placed through my dealer to PT to the time it was repaired (perhaps also because it was put through insurance), it took about a month. I think it might have taken longer but I was leaning on both my dealer and PT throughout the process.

The hole in the side wall the slides go through was not cut square. Every time the slides go in and out the bottom of the slides are pinched causing the seals to bind and tear or pull off the side wall.

Contacted Primetime on the 3 to 4 week time the dealer quoted to get the slide seal and the reply from Primetime was that this was correct (no explanation). I have been rv'ing since the late 70's and never experienced this (one of my unit's was damaged by wind ($10,000) and even with shipping replacement parts from Canada I had it back in 5 weeks ) Seems like slide seals are a standard production part and should be readily available. Not impressed with this service -- consumer needs better representation in dealing with warranty's in the rv industry.

Mine has been at the dealer since Sept 23rd for warranty and I still don't have it and they have no estimated time frame when they will receive the parts. Lippert gave them an open ended ship date.

My rig is going in for slide seal repair this week -- 4 weeks to the day after I notified the dealer of the problem. Several explanations would be appreciated -- reason for the premature failure of the seal (may get that when the dealer has it apart) and why what I would consider to be a standard production line commodity (slide seal) in all their trailer construction would take so long to get.
Bad weather has already settled in over new England and I would like to have had my rig covered by now.
