What is Prime Time's Base Warranty? 12 or 24 Months,

My dealer is trying to sell me a 7 year pro rated extended warranty for like $2400? What did everyone do when you bought your PT New?

My understanding on our crusader is just the std 12 months. I'm pretty handy so I'll be making any repairs after warranty is up myself. Unless you get a rare really great deal on those ext warranties IMO there a waste of money!

All PT products 1 year......except Sanibel which is 2 years. Read the fine print on any extended warranty. We tried to use ours once when our slide failed. They refused to cover repairs because they said we couldn't show proof that we "had performed annual inspection/maintenance by a dealer/certified RV tech". Which, I found in the "fine print" in our contract.

So basically they are not worth it unless the dealer does everything? I wonder if the Good Sam warranty is like that

Not sure about Good Sam. We had purchased ours during the purchase process from the dealer (which really doesn't give you time to read the entire contract).

Ah Yeah I figure if I take care of it and check tires and tighten things winterize right The extended might not be worth it, can't stand taking it to the dealer to do everything they are not the best anyway, find myself fixing something they didn't do completely right

This new bring it in and pay for bi yearly inspection on top of what the warranty costs is a huge scam and yet another way you can be refused the work you paid for. I am so glad I declined extended. Massive profit Center for dealers

I have read that 87% of any extended warranty was profit and commissions and only about 13% actually went to repairs. So about $2100 of your money went to some person and a little over $300 actually went to repairs. Me, I'll put a few bucks into an account to cover the actual repairs.

Best Buys best profit center is the warranties they sell at the register.

Equally that most extended ones beyond MFG only cover appliances and some other minor details, not all the things that break just went they this with my dealer and also Good Sam, the items not covered are quite a few also getting stuff done under extended warranty is rather difficult so I agree put $ aside for repairs but most dealers don't carry all the parts, I am dealing with this now

Yes and besides the deductible most dealers are reluctant to repair what you bought at another dealer, I bought mine at one but trying to use another to fix a Forest River quality issue is frustrating so I am ordering parts and doing it myself.
