What size Equal-i-zer hitch?
Purchasing an Equalizer hitch for our (incoming) Tracer 3150. In the brochure, the trailer shows 6,330 lbs empty w/ 2,715 lbs carrying capacity, for a GVWR of 9,045 lbs. Shows tongue weight of 665 lbs.
Equalizer makes a 1,000/10,000 (tongue/GVWR) and a 1,200/12,000 that I am having trouble choosing between.
I have read that it is better to go too big than too small, but have also read that the smaller the hitch, the better the overall ride when towing (less bouncing, etc).
As I can't exceed 10,000 lbs anyway, based on the GVWR of the trailer, I'm thinking I should be good with the 1,000/10,000. Any opinions?
