What trips do you have planned for 2011?

My friend just asked me for a list of our trips for this upcoming season. We are in a camping group with several members from our church and each trip has a host family who plans out the shared meals on Sat AM and PM. We have a great time together.

Apr 22-23 Cherry Creek State Park (in our backyard literally...we always chose a location close to our homes to everyone can dewinterize and get ready for the season).
May 27-30 Sand Dunes (really there are sand dunes in Alamosa which is the southern end of the state)
June 11-13 Rocky Mt Natl Park (amazing!!!) about 1 hr away...hard to believe right?
June 23-26 Dowdy Lake (near Pouder Canyon up north)
July 21-24 Turquoise Lake (near Leadville/Aspen)
Aug 3-7 Steamboat Lake (not too far from Craig)
Sept 1-5 Arapahoe Bay (at Lake Granby near Grand Lake which is on the other side of Rocky Mt Natl Park)
Sept 16-18 Palisades Colorado Wine Festival (near Grand Junction)
Sept 23-25 Prospectors Campground (near Pueblo 21/2 hrs south of us, near the Royal Gorge)
Of course I hope to squeeze in a few more if possible

We only have two reservations so far. Most our trips are planned only a week or so ahead of time. One reservation is for Cherrystone on Va's Eastern Shore in July. My parents are meeting us for the weekend with their Class A. And we have our annual week long family vacation reserved at Ocean Waves CG on N.C. Outer Banks in August. We usually go somewhere once/twice a month but with our work schedules it's hard to plan more than a few weeks out.

How is Frontiertown? We've been eyeballing that place for a while. Also I'm from PA, we camped up there a few years ago when visiting family. Stayed at a place in Cooks Forest, can't recall the name.

Well, we plan almost nothing...but we are currently en route for a three-week loop from Manitou Springs, CO through southern Colorado, Great Sand Dunes NP; Taos and Santa Fe, NM; Saguaro Nat'l Park, AZ, Grand Canyon NP, St. George, UT and Zion/Bryce/Canyonlands NPs returning via Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP.

In May/June, we will make the obigatory trek from Colorado to Prince Edward Island, Canada for the summer with a number of short summer trips to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia! Then we "plan" to head for British Columbia in the fall and down the Pacific Coast to SFO....after that, who knows?

My family loves it there. It is a little pricey. It is a little large but loads of things to do. If you stay there you get free entrance to their waterpark. They have lots of things for kids to do. They also have boat docks and a pier. It is near some excellent clamming beds. We have taken a canoe accross the bay to them. You can alot of fun fishing and crabbing off the pier. You are about 10 minutes from both Ocean City Maryland and Assateague Island. You can camp right on Assateague Island but the mosquitoes are horrible. Bugs are usually not bad at all at FT. They have a pool inside the campground not open to the public. You get a 20% discount on entrance to the Wild West Park. If you have younger kids, they will enjoy the train ride and the stage coach ride and panning for gold. Their miniture golf course is challenging and is less expensive then those on the main strip in OC. The biggest problem I notice is that they allow some people to drive their golf carts too fast around camp.

We have a couple family reunions in North Dakota (within two days of each other) this summer. Unfortunately we will not be taking the trailer because of the limited time we have to get there and get back home. Otherwise, just the memorial day weekend trip is planned, so far.

Looks like the shortest distance between 2 points.. Done that a few years ago, in the opposite direction. Had to back track though.

Although we do not have any "scheduled trips" planned for the summer, we will take several to local state and privately owned parks. We have several trips planned for the fall.

October 14-16: Fairview State Park, Madisonville, LA Wooden Boat Festival
October 20-24: Talladega Creekside Resort, Talladega, AL Talladega 500
October 24-29: Riveredge RV park, Pigeon Forge, TN

Had all kinds of tentative plans for this year with the new TT but the price of fuel may keep us closer to home than we had originally hoped. So far though we have;

Easter Weekend - Battlefield Resort, Gettysburg, PA
Mothers Day Weekend & 10 day stay - Battlefield Resort, Gettysburg, PA
