Ha! Thanks.

This forum doesn't seem to want me to upload, so I'd have to store pics on an external server and hot-link them. I don't have photobucket or imgur or anything like that, so getting around to setting up that account is the main gating item here.

i can hear the propane at the final quick-disconnect so i'm about 85% sure the problem is inside the new suburban cooktop. There's an internal regulator that then feeds the branch to the two gas valves, and ultimately the two burners. Gas is going into the unit, but it's not making it to the either burner. I think it's more likely that one regulator would be broken, than both valves. Only other potential problem i can think of is that the main regulator is working, but not providing quite enough flow to get all the way down the rv to that final appliance. But that seems far less likely, since the water heater burns hot and fast, wide open, with no apparent restriction.

Your out door cook top has it's own regulator??? that may be your problem. No other appliance in your trailer has a separate regulator. The tank regulator already reduces the flow of gas to a very low pressure, by the time it passes through a second one the flow is almost nonexistent. That's why aftermarket grills and stoves(i.e. Coleman) can't be used with a "Quick Connect".

X2 If in fact what you see is a regulator. Could it possibly be a distribution manifold? Maybe a quick disassembly of each connection after the quick disconnect might reveal a blockage of some sort?

I don't believe that is an answer to anything anywhere resembling the original question...

Save the movie references for another board... Please don't hijack the thread.

utee94,

There shouldn't be any need to hotlink photos here...

Don't know if you've seen this yet or not, but here are the instructions on how to upload photos to the forum... take a look if you haven't already

To be fair, it literally is the question. It's right in the title of this thread.

I think you may have stumbled into the wrong dimension today... go back to the last intersection and take a left instead of a right

It's a super common model of cooktop for RV outdoor kitchens, this one in fact, so I don't think it's a faulty design, but rather a faulty product

https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/...ABEgLsyvD_BwE:

There's a manifold beyond it to split to the two branches, but the piece I'm citing is either a regulator, or perhaps a check valve to prevent air ever back-flowing into the supply lines? Not sure. It is marked to indicate the proper direction of flow, with one line in and one line out, before the manifold splits and distributes.

Either way, the problem was definitely inside the cooktop. RV tech was able to make a service call to my house over lunch, and confirmed gas flow to the unit, but not through the unit. So either that regulator (check valve?) was faulty, or BOTH valves were, which would be somewhat surprising to me but who knows.

Anyway, it's working now, and thanks to all for your help!

BriaBeck-- thanks for the link, I'll go back and do that soon, don't want to keep you waiting!

Pics from last night

Here's a few pics from yesterday, just had to share!
Also saw another Avenger here in the wild in the same campground, haven't had a chance to talk to the owners yet.
