who makes fireplace in 318bhs??

ok, so after having the trailer out this weekend and really getting to use the fireplace, we LOVE it....got down to 33 degrees outside, and only using the fireplace we maintained an inside temp of 69-70 all night.....had both roof vents open, as well as the windown cracked beside my bedside. it even got so warm that my wife got up and turned the heater down...

anyway, i got around to reading the manual, and noticed it came with instructions for using the remote to control the fire, as well as the timer functions, which can ONLY be controled by the remote...

mine didnt come with a remote, and i recall prime saying that they didnt ship with a remote, BUT i want it either way, ..... only problem is, the manual doesnt have a lick of info about who manufacturers the fireplace, or ANY contact info??

i recall reading a while back, that SOME people had recieved a remote, and another guy had ordered one from somewhere....but now i cant remember where i read it!!

so if anyone knows who makes these fireplaces, or has a remote they can give me info from, it would be much appreciated!

THANKS IN ADVANCE
Jeremy

ironj - I thought about sending you a PM but figured what we would discuss with each other might assist other owners. So, if you don't mind, post a close-up photo of your fireplace (we've used a couple different ones) and I will try to get some contact info posted on this thread to possibly acquire a remote.

The supplier for this fireplace is Patrick Industries. Their number is 574-970-8282. They can get a remote for you. I'm not sure of the cost, but I'd guess it will be roughly $20 plus shipping. Hope this helps.

This is going to be a little outside their normal procedure, so I'd suggest you call.

will do...thanks again for looking into that....

it has occured to me that it was previously mentioned that the remote was not included with the fireplace because of potential issues with it messing with the tv or stereo??

if this is in fact the case, i am going to try and use a "universal" remote to perform a code search and see if it will operate the fireplace on one of the several hundred of possible codes.....if so i will post my results, as one of these universal remotes can be had for +-5$ at a dollar store.... possibly with the added benefit of also controlling the tv, stereo, and my dish box from one remote...

if not then ill just quit being cheap and order one! LOL

You know I was not a big fan of the fireplace when I bought my 8289WS Rookwood, kinda thought it was dumb. Then when I used the heater I said this is great, mine came with a remote, works well, but you still will need to set the temp dial. The only thing is that the remote stops me from getting up from my Lazy Boy to turn it on.

I dont think it ever was available directly from prime, except for a few units that accidentally shipped with remote......hopefully my universal remote idea will work.....if not rvguy provided a number!!
