Whole house water filters

Hello,

I just brought the trailer home to winterize, de-mouse and anything else I can tackle this weekend.

I bought one of those cylinder type water filters from an RV Filter store. When I took out the filter, it had a good bit of rust on the filter because it had a painted metal mesh wrap that covered the filter. I wouldn't think that's normal to have a water filter have something on it that would rust like this. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Thanks!
