Why put such a pitiful mattress in a trailer?

Very happy with our Lacrosse trailer other than the mattress. This is our 4th season and have been trying to improve the factory mattress with foam toppers of various thickness. Finally gave up and purchased a Parkland RV mattress, took care of the problem.

Cut into the Evergreen by Michiana Mattress and can not believe what was inside, 3 layers of a spun plastic that looked like cotton. No wonder there was not any support. Looks like batting that is used in a quilt.

Why would a manufacture go to all the sales hype about trailer quality then pull a bonehead move like using the cheapest thing possible, that is a way to get a very bad customer rating.

Again, we are very happy with our Lacrosse, just couldn't believe what we found.

Having trouble downloading pics, any secrets

There's probably a list of other items on the trailer that are things they "cut corners on" that make them look bad. In many ways, they only need it to look nice enough to get you to buy and just barely good enough to make it past warranty.

That is very typical of mattresses in the RV industry till you get into the higher end models...on our last trailer we bought an upgraded mattress from a mattress store before ever sleeping one night on the factory piece of junk. When we took it out of the trailer and held it up we could see daylight through it.
We use the trailer to get out and relax and recharge...why would we want to sleep on something that uncomfortable and not get a good rest.

Why put such a pitful mattress in a trailer?

Best investment we put into our camper was the 10" Night Therapy Rv short queen mattress!

We paid $299 and it shipped vacuumed wrapped in a box that fit right thru the camper door.

You unwrap it and it comes to life!

We tell everyone to get this mattress if your camper has an uncomfortable one.

There's one with memory foam and one without. We got the non memory foam one.

Want to hear a worse story? I paid the for the "updated Serta Something Sleeper" mattress and IT STILL SUCKS. We've added a 4" topper and I'm soon going to be ditching it for something else.

I paid for the upgrade too and after our first long trip I took it out and went to the local mattress store and bought a nice pillow top mattress like I have in my house.

This is typical od the RV industry on the whole... not one manufacturer makes a totally good product... except maybe Airstream. I for one don't want to pay what they want for one the size I need. It would be around $140,000-. That's $115,000 more than I paid for what I have. Mine came with the same Serta mentioned earlier. We added a 3" foam topper and it sleeps OK but not great. As long as we keep paying for this junk they'll keep slappin' 'em together and runnin' 'em out the door.

Slept on ours one night; went to the mattress store next morning. Just another place to increase the mfgr's. profit margin.

Yep, I agree. We tried the topper but ended up going down to the local mattress store and pay 399.00 for nice pillow top.

The factory mattresses are pretty sad. I put an 8" memory foam in and love it.
